"Ugh my head", Mike groaned for the millionth time.
"So...let me get this straight. Someone came onto the bus and spiked our drinks, then Mike drank one?", Vic asked.
"I only had a sip!", he defened. He was currently laying on the couch, holding his stomach and head in pain.
"How did you know it was spiked anyways?", Vic asked.
"That doesn't matter. I just need to figure out what was in the drink. It could be dangerous", I said.
"How do we do that?", Vic asked.
"I'm not sure...", I mumbled, searching my brain for answers.
Then I remembered something from my years of training.
"Bio luminescence!", I replied.
"What?", Vic asked.
"Glowsticks! Do you have glowsticks?", I asked.
The guys all turned to Jaime.
"What?", he asked, putting his hands up.
"You have to have glowsticks", Vic told him.
"Me? What? Why?", he coughed.
"Cause you're Jaime. Now go get them", Vic said.
He sighed and went over to his bunk.
"You owe me", he grumbled, handing me a packet of glow sticks.
"How would those help?", Vic asked.
I tore open the package and took out one.
Then I grabbed a knife from the drawer and cut off the top, making sure not to let any of it drip.
The guys watched as I grabbed the beer bottle Mike drank from the trash and poured some in a bowl.
"Bio luminescence reacts to strong toxins. Meaning if the toxin is-", I began.
"English please", Jaime butted in.
I shot him a blank look and sighed before dumbing down my words.
"The stuff in the glow Sticks reacts to toxic things. So if I pour the liquid of the glow stick into the spiked beer, and it glows, that means whatever Mike drank was dangerous", I explained.
"And if it doesn't glow?", Vic asked.
"Then whatever he took wasn't fatal", I replied.
"Ohh. Okay. I get it", Vic nodded.
"But how do you know that this liquid thingy reacts to dangerous stuff?", Jaime asked.
I almost cringed at his vocabulary.
"Because the substances inside of the bio luminescence react to toxins commonly known as fatal drugs. So if whatever Mike ingested was toxic, it will glow", I explained.
Jaime stared at me with a blank look.
I almost face palmed.
"What she said was: the stuff inside the glowsticks will glow if the beer is spiked with something dangerous", Tony explained.
"Ohh! Why didn't you just say that?", Jaime said.
I sighed and shook my head.
"Whatever. Can we just get on with this?", Vic asked.
I nodded and poured the glowstick liquid into the bowl with some of the spiked beer inside.
I grabbed a plastic spoon and mixed it then studied it.
"Is it glowing?", Vic asked, almost desperately.
I waited for a couple if moments before sighing in relief and shaking my head.
"Thank God", Vic muttered.
"Next time, listen to someone when they tell you your drink is spiked", I told Mike.
He groaned and sent me a small glare.
"It's not my fault if I didn't believe you", he shot back, holding his stomach in pain.
"Give him some painkillers and he should be able to sleep this off", I said.
Vic nodded and I walked back to my bunk.
I hopped inside and layed down, facing the wooden ceiling.
I let out a sigh and slowly closed my eyes. I wasn't going to sleep; I can't sleep until all of the guys are.
But with my eyes closed, my other senses were hightened.
"Uhm...Aaron? Are you alseep?", Vic's voice asked.
I opened my eyes and stared at the curtain of my bunk. I slowly opened it and looked down at Vic since my bunk was up top.
He rubbed the back of his neck and offered me a grateful smile.
"Thanks for, you know, helping Mike out", he said.
I sent him a small nod.
"No problem", I replied.
It's what I'm here for, I said in my mind.
"I know he can be a jackass most of the time. I'm sorry about that", he said.
"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong", I pointed out.
"Yeah but he's my little brother. I still feel responsible for him", he said, shooting me a sheepish smile.
"I understand. You're welcome", I nodded.
"Goodnight", he said.
I didn't reply to that, instead I leaned back into my bunk and closed the curtain.
Let's hope it's a good night...
