Celeste was downstairs in her dad's music studio sitting by him as he was having someone record their song. She was watching her dad work the soundboard and watching the person sing their heart out. They sounded amazing. For her being 9, she knew good music when she heard it. It was a gift her dad would say.
"It's good for the music business to have a good ear and an open heart when it comes to this industry. Everyone brings things similar and different but they should be listened to because music is a form of art and expression".
Celeste begin tapping her foot softly to the beat of the music. It was upbeat and she felt like dancing but she stayed in her seat next to her daddy.
The music ended and the person shook hands with her dad.
How'd you like it sweetie", the man asked her.
"I loved it. Really upbeat. I felt like dancing", said Celeste smiling.
"You've got a smart daughter here sir. She's going to be a good music producer or singer someday".
"That's what everyone's telling me but my wife wants her to do more practical things like ballet classes and things like that. But, at the mention of those ideas. She goes running away. I'm not gonna stop her being in music is obviously something she wants and who am I to stop her."
"I could help her learn some instruments if you would like her to".
"It's up to Celeste".
"Honey do you wanna learn how to play some instruments with Mr. Mason here".
The child looked up at the African American singer and nodded.
"You teach me guitar?" She asked shyly.
"I'll teach you any instrument that you wanted sweetheart".
"Oh mister. I'd be so happy when I can play guitar and piano right".
"And you will dear".
"I'll drop her off after school on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays is that ok?"
"I'm free pretty much any day".
"Alright sounds wonderful Willy. Thank you so much for this. I'd teach her but I'm pretty busy".
"It's my pleasure. Your daughter has a gift and I'd hate for her not to use it".
Celeste just looked at Willy and her dad and smiled.
