too close for comfort

I felt cold sweat trickling down my sideburns and even down my nape. Ang ikli na nga ng hair ko, super pixie cut tapos pinapawisan pako?! Ano toh, lokohan?

"You see, we have a new CPA Board Passer that is an alumnus of our university. I was thinking bagay sayo yun interview and write-up assignment." Bryan explained.

Whoa! Yun lan pala. Ok sige, kaya ko toh. Ayan ka na naman, Paige eh. Ang OA magisip.

"Wow, kuya, that's a big honor!" I said, trying to brush off my nervousness and focusing on the assignment.

"Huh? Anong sabe mo?" Bryan looked shocked for no apparent reason.

"Alin po?"

"Ano tawag mo sa aken?"

I sat there weirded out by his question... "Ahhh, kuya???"

"YES! You shouldn't be calling me 'kuya', nakakakilabot!" And he laughed so loud I thought the room shook. "Just Bryan, please."

"Ok, Bryan." And I gave him a sheepish smile.

"So ayun na nga, I want to give you this assignment since Accounting major ka and I'm sure you know what to ask this boardpasser that are related to the course. We need to give our fellow students some inspiration, diba?" He further elaborated.

"Ok, yes, sounds about right." I kept jotting notes on my pad.

"Pero, nakausap ko na yun boardpasser and ayaw niya dito sa school mainterview. She invited us to her home instead. Malapit lan naman, pero I will be accompanying you para makita ko naren how you work. And syempre, para may kasama ka."

"Ok, kuy--- I mean, Bryan. Pero kung ok lan, paalam muna ako sa dad ko. Medyo mahigpit kasi. Baka hindi ako payagan outside of the campus." I sounded like a little kid, but what am I supposed to do? It's the truth. My father wouldn't just let me do activities outside of the school campus every other day.

"Ah tlga? I'm sure papayagan ka dahel related naman sa Oracle saka diba pinayagan ka naman nung Saturday sa Ka-Talk Seminar. Plus this is a pretty good first assignment. Swerte mo nga, meron ka kaagad solo piece in the first edition this schoolyear."

"Ok, I will ask my dad and let you know asap." I glanced at my watch and saw it was about time for my next class. "Um, Bryan, I need to go, it's almost time for my next class and it's in the other building pa."

"Oh, really? Sayang naman, I thought we would have more time to talk about things." Bryan stood up as I pushed my chair back and placed my pen and pad in my shoulder bag.

"Sorry, sandali lan kasi yun break namen. I will let you know, though, what my father would say about the assignment. Thanks!"

Bryan was suddenly blocking the door, "Teka, may tanong sana ako."

"Yes?" I looked into his chinito eyes and waited for his question.

"Pwede pa-hug?"

"Huh?! Baket?" I stammered with my words again. I really hate these ambush flirting questions.

"Wala lan."

"Um, ano bang makukuha mo kun may hug?"

"Wala lan, just a good way to end our talk."

OMG, Mr. Feelingero strikes again. Ano bang akala niya sa amen dalawa? Hindi ba dapat professional lang? What should I do?! I don't want to give in pero I also don't want him to think I am a snob. It's a pretty big deal nga naman that he would give me a big solo assignment on my first hand at this writing thing.
