They had been travelling together for two weeks now; Ryder still attached by ropes to Dennie. There was a black fog, it was filled with toxins from the bomb that hit the area four years ago. The four had their gas masks and trudged through the barren land. With the pace they were walking and the direction of the wind, the fog soon passed revealing the barred waste land. Ryder was forced to walk at Dennie's pace or be choked to keep up. The brunets, Caleb and Robin, saw the sadness dwelling in Ryder's eyes every time they caught a glance of them. There was no voices from the group, the only sounds were from radioactive rats scuttling along the gravel path or the slight chocked and broken sob from Ryder.

Thick grey clouds had begun to roll in over the waste land. Crashes of thunder and crackles lightening sounded. Ryder jumped at the sounds and fell, choking himself in the process. "What the hell idiot? Don't fall over." Dennie hissed, pulling him up by the throat. Tears fell from the boys eyes in streams as the rope cut into his throat again, dyeing the rope with his blood again. Caleb and Robin had hand enough. All they had been to Ryder was an inconvenience and this is how Dennie was treating him. He hadn't even done anything to Dennie to make her act like this.

"Caleb." Robin whispered, "I will tackle Dennie. You cut Ryder free got it. We have been nothing but a nuisance to him. He doesn't deserve to be treated like this. So on my mark okay?" Caleb nodded, taking out his pocket knife. The wait was deafening. Robin glanced over and Caleb and nodded. Swiftly, Robin tackled and pinned Dennie to the ground. "Robin! What are you doing?" Dennie struggled under Robin's weight but managed to tip him over. "I'm helping Ryder!" He growled, flipping their positions, sitting on the woman's torso and pinning her hands above her head. "Well I didn't know you liked me that wa-!" That was the last sound that left her lips before Robin head butted her. "As if I'd fall for your flat ass." He murmured. Getting off of Dennie, the scientist walked over to the brunet and blond. "Ryder I-!" Robin lost the air to his lungs as Ryder looked at him dead in the face. No words were spoken. They weren't needed to show the suffering he went through in these two weeks.

A shuffle sounded behind them. "Give me the rope Caleb. There is something I need to get payback for." Robin's tone was dark, sending visible shivers down Caleb's spine as he handed the rope over. "What ar-are you going to do?" Robin stood over Dennie's body. She looked peaceful, besides the blood wound at the top of her head. "Like I said," he flipped her body over, "Payback."
