Buck kept using El like this and there was nothing she could do about it. She hated Buck. She hated herself for letting it happen. And she hates everyone who didn't believe her or listen to her when she said she needed help.
One July afternoon El was walking on a bridge. She texted her mother and father that she loved them. She texted Ryan that he was the best person and friend and that she loved him, and what Buck has been doing. But before she pressed send she took off her shoes, took the password off her phone, sent the message. She placed her phone in her shoes and jumped off the bridge into the river.
