Chapter 1
It was the forth quarter in the game the score was tied with 49-49. My teammate passed me the ball as I got ready to make the final shot. I dribbled the ball up and down the court as my fingers shook in nervousness.
I couldn't help but to overthink about Fred Hoiberg being in the crowd, he was the head coach for the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA drafts were coming up, him & his assistants had been going to high schools & colleges all over Chicago looking for future NBA players. I tried not to think so hard & just focus on the game, I continued to dribble the ball it was only 10 seconds left in the game. I took a few steps back as I examined the goal.
My feet lifted off the ground as I jumped up tossing the ball at the net. Unfortunately the ball didn't go through, the crowd gasped as the ball spun around the rim several times. The room filled with silence then "swoosh" the ball fell through the net. The crowd jumped and screamed with excitement as my teammates lift me in the air cheering in victory.

Five minutes had passed then they finally put me down. I glanced at the bleachers to see if my mom & sister was still there. "We're over here son." My mother said. I walked over towards them then threw my arms around their shoulders from exhaustion. As we got ready to walk out I felt a tap on my shoulder & turned around only to the head coach of the Chicago Bulls, Fred Hoiberg.
My face frowned with nervousness yet slight joy, "Congratulations on your game Mr.Washington." He said, holding his hand out. I shock his hand eagerly and responded "Thank you, sir."
"We could use somebody like you back on my team." He replied, "What are you saying, sir?" "Would you Mr.Washington like to play for the Chicago Bulls?" My mother suddenly screamed interrupting the conversation. She then grabbed my head pulling me towards her and kissed my forehead as tears fell from her face. "I knew you could do it baby" She said.
I smiled as I wiped her tears then looked back at the coach responding, "If you don't mind sir, I would like to have some time to overthink this."
"No problem, but don't take too long, practice starts in three weeks my good man." He responded while waking away
I shouted back "I won't" while waving goodbye realizing he was half way out the door. "Well this calls for a dinner out in the city" My sister said.
We all laughed and responded
"You damn right."
