Chapter 2
1 week later..
I had two weeks left before i made the biggest decision of my life. I never been so stressed out, so I decided to clear my head & take my family out to the movies. Besides I've been so busy with practice & finals we haven't been out much, so I felt like this was a perfect time to get out. The movie we we're seeing was called "Last Friday", It the last sequel of "Friday After Next" starring Ice Cube, Mike Epps, Katt Williams and Kevin Hart.

When we got to the movies, the line was curved all the way around to the back. I guess we wasn't the only ones excited about the movie. We had stopped at the snack bar to kill the time. The line was about the same length as the line for the tickets, yet it was moving much faster. When we got to the desk my sister asked for some skittles, I turned to my mother to ask if she wanted anything & noticed her face was very pale. "You okay ma? You want some water or something?" I said as she tried to respond she collapsed right in my arms.

I shook her body repeatedly trying to wake her as tears slowly fell from my face. "Ma..momma, get up please.. come on mane." I said, yet she wouldn't wake...
My sister stood in silence then suddenly broke down in tears. "SOMEBODY HELP, CALL 911!!" I shouted. Her body was very cold, I took my jacket off and wrapped it at her body. I had never seen her like this, I didn't know what to do. People crowded over us trying to see what was going on, then out of nowhere paramedics rushed through the crowd taking her out my arms.

   "St. Bernard" was the name of the hospital they took her too. When we got there they told my sister she wasn't old enough to go inside the room so she had to wait in the front. I softly knocked on the door "Mama it's me, Marcus" I shouted. I slowly opened the door peeking my head inside "Oh, I'm sorry.. but is this the right room?" "Only if your mother name is Bre'ana Washington" The doctor responded. "Yeah that's her." I said. "Okay now that we've gotten that out the way, can you tell me what happened?" The doctor replied. "Well I don't really know... We we're in line at the snack bar then out of nowhere she collapsed into my arms, her face was very pale and her body was ice cold." I said.
"Well has she been taking her medication?" I gave him a puzzled face "What medication?
She's been her before?" "She's been a patient here for over 5 years when she was first diagnosed with Breast cancer."
He replied.

My heart dropped to my feet, I couldn't and didn't wanna believe what I had just heard. I felt like someone had just stabbed me in the chest. "How did I not know?" "How & why would she keep something like this from me?"
I thought to myself.
