Lost and Found

Chapter 4: Monday

I woke up in my bed and looked over at the clock. I shot up from my bed and remembered that Thanksgiving break is over and school started today. It was 7:20 and school starts at 7:40 a.m. I put on my dark green skinny jeans with holes in the knees, I threw on my white P!ATD shirt and put on my black vans. I put my hair in a messy ponytail and did my make up like always. I tried to cover up the bruise on my face but failed.

"Lane! Josh is here!" Tyler called from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back.

I grabbed my bag and rushed down the stairs. I walked out the door Tyler was holding open for me. He walked out and closed the door and locked it. I got in the passenger seat where Tyler always sits. Tyler knocked on Josh's window and gave him a pouting face. Josh laughed and shrugged his shoulders.

"I thought we were friends Josh." Tyler said getting in the car.

"She beat you to it today." Josh smiled and pulled onto the road.

Tyler looked at me with a serious face for a whole 10 seconds before he started smiling. I gave him a cheeky smile and turned back to face the front. The school wasn't far away it took about 8 minutes to get there from my house.

I slammed my locker shut and hurried to my class before- never mind. Abby and her small group made their way over to me.

"Where do you think you're going?" She scowled at me.

"I have to get to class." I said in a quiet voice.

"Oh you have to get to class, but we haven't seen you in such a long time." She gave me a fake smile.

"We miss you." Sarah said smiling.

Jessica pushed me against the locker and Abby got in my face.

"What happened to your face? Did you're mommy hit you?" Abby said smiling.

"I uh-" Abby cut me off.

"I don't give a shit. You deserved it. Just to make it worse...." Abby then smacked my bruise really hard.

I held my cheek and tried not to let any tears out. The bell for homeroom ending rang and people filled the halls. Abby and her group walked off and I went to my first period class. Gym. Favorite part of the day. Note the sarcasm.
