As Cerise walked slowly back to her dorm, she tried desperately to sort things out. Could it be that Hiccup really was reluctant to leave her? Cerise was soooo confused. So much so, she didn't watch where she was going and nearly collided into Duchess. Seriously though, why did Duchess keep popping up everywhere Cerise went?
"Hey there again! So I saw you over there with Mr. Hottie, talking it up like you two were the best of friends!" She sneered, right in Cerise's face. Cerise let out an exasperated sigh.
"For the last time Duchess, I'm not dating anyone! Hiccup was just seeing if I was alright, ok Duchess?" Cerise said, gritting her teeth.
"Yeah, sure, seeing if you're ok because you're in wuv with each other!" Duchess smirked.
Cerise rolled her eyes and continued down the hallway, with Duchess making lame remarks behind her. She arrived at her dorm, walked in, and fell on her bed, staring up at the ceiling.
"Hey Cerise," her roommate, Cedar, said without looking up from the drawing she was working on.
"Hey Cedar," Cerise mumbled, as she covered her face with her palms.
"What's up with you?" Cedar asked, as she picked up an orange colored pencil.
"Nothing real important, it's just that Duchess is being hextremely annoying," Cerise said, as she rolled off the side of her bed and stood up on her long legs.
Cedar snorted. "When isn't she?" Cedar grabbed an erasing and started furiously rubbing it against her paper. Miraculously, it didn't rip. Cerise laughed at her friend's remark, then walked over to examine what she was working on. It was a portrait of a boy, maybe around their age, with amber colored eyes, thick, wavy, brown hair, and tanned skin.
"Who's that?" Cerise asked leaning over the wooden girl.
"Oak. He's the son of a carpenter who lives in my village. I've had a crush on him for forever after, and I just learned he's going to be attending school here! He starts tomorrow!" Cedar exclaimed hexcitedly.
"That's super cool Cedar," Cerise commented, studying the portrait. It was plain to tell, he was good-looking. Not her type, but good-looking.
"Oh! I almost forgot! Raven came by this morning when you were out for your sunrise run. She dropped something off for you. I told her to put it on your side of the bathroom counter." Cedar smiled, then turned back to continue her drawing.
"Thanks Cedar," Cerise said. She walked into their bathroom, where she spotted a little gift bag on the counter. She opened it to find a perfume bottle and a note. It read:
Hey C!
I've just learned how to make potions to change physical features. Spray this perfume on and your ears will be normal till the next morning! Let me know if you run low, and I'll make you a new one! Love you, bestie!
~Raven
Cerise sighed and stuffed the perfume bottle back in the bag. When would she use this. She was mostly content just wearing her hood. Oh well.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
"I'll get it," Cedar said, getting up and answering the knock. It was Raven.
"Hey Raven! What's up?" Cedar greeted her friend.
"Hey Cedar, hey Cerise! I was just wondering if either of you would wanna come watch as we teach the new kids how to play Dragon Games," Raven said.
"I would, but I'm working on a project and don't wanna lose my focus." Cedar wistfully looked at her painting, then back at Raven.
"That's ok! Cerise? How 'bout you?" Raven asked, turning towards the half wolf girl.
"Fine! I'll come and watch Rae, but don't you dare try and get me on one of those beasts," Cerise warned.
"Yay! Raven threw her arms around her friend's neck and hugged her tight. "See you at the arena in 5!"
Cerise sighed, and looked at the gift bag shed carelessly thrown on her bed. Maybe she would use it.
AN: Yay! New chapter! Sorry for the long wait!
