Frankies POV:
After spending some time out on the balcony I decided to have a nap. The long ass flight had really taken it out of me and I just wanted to rest. Unfortunately not everyone got that message it appeared, as what only felt like minutes later, I was awoken by a scream and something heavy jumped on top of me.
"What the hell?" I grumbled, fumbling about, I was trapped under the sheets and the thing on top of me. Did auntie Jamie have a dog or something?!
"FRANKIE OH MY GOSH ITS BEEN SO DAMN LONG!!!!" A familiar voice screamed and my head finally found an exit and poked out of the blankets. Crazy Curley blond hair tumbled onto my face and quickly shake it off. I don't have blond curly hair? I looked up and gasped.
"HAZEL!" I screeched and jumped forward wrapping my arms around her. We jumped off the bed and I stood back looking at her. "Daym girl," I joked. "You grew up nicely."
She giggled and jabbed my ribs, "you too! Your so pretty; I love your hair." I blushed and stood there fiddling with my cutoff shorts.
"Thanks but your hair is incredible! Like where did that come from?! It was defiantly not like that last time I saw you!" I giggled stepping closer to her and walking around her playing with her hair.
"I know, I hit 5th grade and I woke up one day and it was just like BOING!" We laughed and she grabbed my hand leading me out into the hall way. I couldn't stop looking at her; she'd changed so much. No longer was she the short stubby girl who wore her hair in pigtails and only wore the colour pink. She'd grown into her body now and was much skinnier and taller, a heck of a lot taller than me. But I was short anyway. She had beautiful blue sparkly eyes and crazy hair. I was also slightly jealous of her incredible tan. I guess that's what living in California instead of London does to you.
"So do you like your room? I helped mum a bit but I'm sure you've seen how she gets," she laughed and shrugged leading me across the landing, past the stairs and to the other side of the house.
"Yes, it's so beautiful. Your all so kind for letting me live here." I gushed and followed Hazel into what I guessed was her room.
I came to realise that in this house everything was big. Her room was the same size as mine but instead of black and white it was blue. Unlike my room which was smooth and polished and modern, hazels was obvious someone had grown up in it. Photos of her and her friends and family were stuck to a pin board wall and photos framed everywhere. Notes and presents and small childhood tokens were very where. This room was Hazel. It was amazing but slightly suffocating.
"Girl what you on about? It's our pleasure having you here! Now come on," she said running over to bean bags in the corner and patting the one besides her. "We have so much to catch up on!" I ran over and joined her.*** two hours later ***
"No! Oh my gosh he did that to you?" I screeched getting angry as Hazel told me about her first and only boyfriend last year that ended up cheating on her. "He's a dick Hazel! He didn't deserve you." I said pulling her in for a hug. She laughed and nodded.
"I know and I'm over it. Really," she smiled and I could tell it was genuine. "What about you though?"
"What about me?" I asked clueless, picking at the fluff on her beanbag.
"What about your previous boyfriends you idjit!" I laughed at her use of the word 'IDJIT'.' We'd chatted for two hours and not going to lie most of our talk was about our joint love of supernatural.
"Nah I'm a boyfriend virgin, in every sence of the word." I laughed, "and I intend to stay that way." It grew quiet and I looked up at Hazel, she was staring at me in concern.
"I know you've had it tough Frankie, and I have no right to say this as I can't even imagine what your been through but please don't shut yourself off from people who try to get close to you." She said grabbing my hand and squeezing it. I rolled my eye but smiled. I didn't want to talk about this.
"Please, no chick flick moments," I quoted dean hoping to lighten the mood and it worked. We both giggled then auntie Jamie knocked and on the door and entered. She smiled once she saw us sat on the bean bags holding hands.
"Dinners ready girls, and Elijah just got home he's downstairs setting up the table." YESSS! I grinned; food. I was starving. We hoped up and followed auntie Jamie to the hall and down the stairs. I could see myself getting lost in this house.
"Unfortunately my husband won't be able to join us tonight, he's away on business. He shall be back tomorrow night though and we'll have another family meal." She smiled apologising. Hey, I wasn't complaining. It just meant more food!
"That's fine," I said as we pushed through the kitchen doors and walked into the dinning room.
"Heya cuz," a tall dark haired boy smiled as he finished setting up the table. I smiled at him and we all walked over to the table. "How you been?" He opens his arms and pulled me in for a hug, of course he ruined the moment by ruffling my hair up with his hands.
"Well I was doing ok," I joked trying to flatten and smoothen my hair. "Nah I've been fine how about you?"
We all moved to sit down. Auntie Jamie was at the head of table, I sat to her left, Elijah opposite me and Hazel next to me.
"I've been good thanks for asking. Are you excited about coming to join us at school?" Elijah made conversation as he dished us all some salad and chicken. I looked delicious.
"Yeah I'm really looking forward to going to school," I joked as we all dug into our chicken. The conversation easily flowed and we passed over topics from me living in London to our joint 4th birthday. As Elijah and Hazel were twins who were born in November and I was born in December we used to share birthday party's when we were younger. For desert we had a scrummy chocolate cake that auntie Jamie had baked earlier in preparation for my arrival and it was suddenly 11pm.
"Oh wow really is that the time?!" Auntie Jamie gasped putting her napkin on her plate and collecting the dishes. Automatically I stood up and helped collect all the plates and cutlery and placed them on the side. I put the plug in the sink and started running a sink of hot water to do the dishes in.
"Sweetheart, what are you doing?" Auntie Jamie asked laughing and turning off the tap. I looked at her confused.
"Running a sink of hot water for the dishes...." I trailed off.
"We have a dishwasher darling there's no need," she laughed touching my cheek as I blushed. This was embarrassing.
"Oh okay... I'll just head to bed then. You know, school tomorrow and all." I laughed awkwardly.
"Of course, sweet dreams." She gave me a hug and I made my way towards the kitchen exit but was stopped.
"Oh wait! Here. A little thing to help you get settled," auntie Jamie said and handed me a bag.
"Auntie Jamie whatever it is I don't need it! You've given me so much more than I could ever wish for." I said handing back the bag but was again stopped.
"Stop it now young lady. Frances take the bag." She sternly joked. "Now open it!"
Shaking my head but smiling I emptied the bag into my hand and gasped. It was a iPhone 6s! This was unreal. "What?! Seriously no! I'm not taking this." I said my eyes wide and shocked.
"No. No. No. Take it. I'm not listening. You need a phone for school. I don't want anything happening and you not having a way to call for help." She answered determined.
"And that's fine auntie Jamie but I don't need such an expensive model. I'm fine with the room and the wardrobe which I noticed is full of new expensive clothes. I'm trying to get used to this but I can't overlook all this. Please I really can't take this phone!" I said getting upset. I wasn't used to having anything and nothing excessive like this.
"Okay," she muttered quietly. "Your obviously serious about this and it wasn't my intention to upset you. This phone honestly doesn't put us in any financial difficulty, it's the same phone as Hazel and Elijah have and I just want you to have the best. Please take it, and if your still upset next weekend we can go get a different one, okay?" I nodded shyly and pulled her in for a hug. After a few minutes She handed me the bag and I met Hazel in the dinning room waiting for me.
"Elijah said goodnight. He was shattered. You coming?" I nodded and we headed up the stairs.
"You know I'm really happy your staying with us Frankie. I'll be great almost like having a sister. I'd gladly swap Elijah any day of the week," we laughed but we knew she loved him really.
"Me too," I laughed and linked my arm with hers. We parted at the top of the stairs after hugging and I entered my room. I still couldn't believe this was 'my room'.
Sighing I lay down on the bed and stared at the cieling for a few minutes. Gosh I was tired. I pulled my suitcase into one corner, deciding I'd unpack tomorrow and quickly grabbed my pjs. A baggy tshirt and some shorts. Flicking off the light and I climbed in beg. Wriggling about my foot felt something cold and I almost screamed, before realising it was just the bag with the phone in.
Reluctantly I grabbed it and pulled out the phone. I pulled off the lid and looked at it. It was beautiful. I'd said the word beautiful a lot today but it was just the perfect word to summarise their lifestyle. Holding down the button; it came to life. A few minutes later I was shocked to see a picture of Elijah as my lock screen. What?
I unlocked the phone (thankful he hadn't put a passcode on it) and was surprised to see Elijah had set up my phone for me. I couldn't help but laugh when I clicked on photos and saw over 250 selfies of Elijah. Oh gosh, that boy sure is vain. Clicking on contacts my eyes widened when I saw the hundreds of contacts. Who the heck were these people? I only recognised three of the names; Elijah, Hazel and auntie Jamie. I actually laughed when I saw Elijah set his contact as 'Elijah 🔥😍😘' . But Why did I need all these numbers? Rolling my eyes I clicked the home button and checked out what apps I had. Nodding my head; flappy birds, Crossy roads, Facebook, Instagram, snapchat and Pinterest. I'd heard of all of them but I'd have to Learn what they actually were.
I lay my head down and held the phone above. It read 11:47pm. I was so tired. Quickly before I was going to sleep, I clicked on messages and created a new thread. To Elijah 🔥😍😘
Thanks for setting up my phone. I love my lock screen. Though who are all the contacts?I pressed send and locked it, placing it on my bed side table not expecting a response. My eyes flew open though when my phone vibrated not seconds later.
