I go back into the tiny, no sorry, 'petite' changing room and get out my phone to take a picture to send to my parents.
I quickly take a picture of me, send it to my mum when I see James is calling me.
Should I answer it? I mean, argh. Its confusing. It's like if I answer it it may either be the start of something new
Or...
Fuck everything up.
Oh fuck it as Chris would say. I slide the answer button across and answer it.
'Hello?' I speak into my phone, waiting for a reply.
'Amèlie, i'm sorry for shouting at you earlier. It was just the initial shock of it'
'It's fine i guess, i will forget about it if you want me too'
'But, that's the thing' James says to me, his voice going down a bit. 'I don't want to forget it'
Wait.. what?
Did he just say he doesn't want to forget it?
Oh god, he likes me! Me!
'Well, neither do I' I reply to him, going quieter than before so my memes don't hear me.
'So, what do you want to do about it? I really really like you'
'Well, I'm staying over tonight so when Carly falls asleep we can talk then?'
'Sounds fine by me, anyway I'll see you tonight. Bye... beautiful' James says to me before ending the phone call.
Fuck...fuck ..fuck.
He thinks I'm beautiful!
Me! Little blue haired me! This is amazing I'm not even joking.
I place my phone back into my rucksack, finish getting changed back into my normal clothes and go and pay for my dress.
'Amélie?' Carly says from behind me, moving next to me.
'Yes?'
'Who were you talking to in the changing room?'
'Ummm....' I reply, thinking of an excuse.
How did she hear me?
'It was...Harry! Yes, Harry was on the phone to me-' I stammered out, hesitantly letting out an giggle.
'OH MY GOD! That's amazing. How long have you been talking to him before?' Carly asks me, her eyes as wide as a kid's on Christmas day.
'Just a couple of days. He's really nice' I mutter out, grabbing my dress from the countertop and exit the store; Carly in tow.
Harry? talking to me? when on god's fucking earth would that happen to me?!
'Aw, I'm so happy for you' Carly replies, swooping me into a hug but putting me down quickly so no to crease her dress.
'Just don't tell the others please. Not yet anyway' I say to her, walking over to the guys.
'Promise'
'Swear on you're limited edition fall out boy cd'
'What?! No chance'
'Do it'
'Fine. I promise on my limited edition fall out boy cd' Carly says exasperatingly, unlinking my arm and running towards Frans and a tired looking Jesse.
'All done?' Jesse asks us, sorting out his windswept hair.
'Yup carpet. Yup' I reply as we all walk to starbucks.
Ay, we are white trash. We don't mind though.
Opening the door, we grab our old coffee booth and take our usual seats. For as long as I can remember, we have always sat here. It's sort of like a..
What's the word?!
Keepsake? I don't know. The word has slipped from my mind.
Anyways, Carly and her 'lover' go off to order our usual drinks (mine's a pumpkin spiced latte. it's so nice), leaving me and Jesse discussing the important matters in life.
'How many memes do you think here are in the entire world?' Jesse asks me, scrolling down his tumblr feed.
See, I told you. Important matters.
'Oh, I don't know. Two billion?'
'More than that'
'10 billion?' I say, laughing at his meme(ness).
*ping*
I glanced over to my phone that as having a miniature seizure of notifications.
All from James...
I really want to see you xxx
Please just answer me xxx
If you want to see me, just head to my hotel room. I'll tell Carly that I'm on an important business trip but I want to spend the weekend with you babe. If you want to make some excuse to not hang out with her over the weekend then make it. Love you xxx
I looked at my lock screen, sighing silently to myself. It was a selfie of myself an Carly.
She would want me to be happy, wouldn't she? No matter who I was with?
It's just, when I kissed him.. everything sort of fell into place. It was like a part of my heart was missing and he put it back together.
'Sorry, I have to go' I say to the group, grabbing my drink and leaving the table.
'Where are you going?' Frans asks me with a tone of anger in his voice.
'My parents want me to babysit Ayer while they go out. Sorry' I tell him before I leave Starbucks and start walking towards his hotel.
He works as a lawyer so he has to stay for the afternoon in a hotel so he can get all his facts straight whilst defending his client. Also, that means he has to wear a suit most of the time so extra 'fitness' for me. Quickly I get out my phone and text him.
Are you still at your hotel?
*ping*
Yes, room 50 x
Oh god, I'm actually doing this aren't I? I have so many emotions running around my head and I don't know what to do about them. It's 50% happily ever after and 50% heartbreak and I lose my best friend.
I arrive at the hotel, opening the glass entrance and go up to the reception desk.
'Can I help you?' the man behind the desk asks me, his fake smile making me cringe.
'Yeah, how do you get to room 50?' I ask him, grabbing a handful of mints and eating them.
'Go up the stairs until the top floor, turn left and it's the first door you'll see' mister miserable finishes saying before looking at his computer screen.
And I thought chivalry was dead.
I do all the instructions what he told me to until I finally arrive. Oh god, I'm nervous now. It's just feels like a dream.
Right, here goes nothing...
