Hello! welcome to the first chapter! enjoy!
Chapter One
Charlie rushed through the train station, he knew that if he didn't hurry, he would miss his train. he soon spotted it. He sighed in relief and took a step towards the train "Charlie!" he stopped in his tracks and looked behind him. There stood his wife, Merida. She had short brown hair and green eyes, she looked as though she had been crying "Merida..." he stared at her for a moment, then she spoke "I came to stop you!" Charlie sighed and took a step towards her "Merida, I have to go" Merida shook her head fiercely "I can't let you! if you go, you'll be killed" Charlie stood there, unsure of what to say to her. Yes, there was that possibility. But he had no choice "you don't know that" he gave her a sad smile, but that only made more tears escape Merida's eyes. Charlie reached his hand out and wiped the tear away with his thumb "I'll come back to you, I promise" Merida closed her eyes and nodded. "will you write as well?" she asked. Charlie smiled "of coarse, Meri" he kissed her on her forehead and hugged her tightly "I love you" he told her "I love you too" he parted from her and headed toward the train, it was just about to leave, so he nearly had to leap on to make it. He didn't look back because if he did, he'd be tempted to jump off and hold her in his arms. He kept his gaze in the direction that the train was headed.
Once he step inside, he saw only one available seat, so he took it. He sat down next his friend, James. He was Merida's older brother. Charlie spoke to start a conversation "hi" it was a miracle that James actually heard what he said "hey" he responded. They sat in silence for a moment, Charlie stared out the window. Charlie didn't really want to be there, he just felt obligated to go. Maybe talking would take his mind off things. "I miss her already" he said honestly. James knew who he was talking about, Merida. "so do I. But we'll see her again" James said reassuringly. Charlie smiled a little, then chuckled. "what's so funny?" James asked. Charlie turned to face him "I was remembering the time I first met her" James smiled as well "I see" "when we were young, you always spoke of her but I never really got to meet her till I was thirteen" Charlie knew why, of course. Merida was sent to a girls only boarding school, while James always stayed at home and went to school with Charlie. Charlie sat back in his seat and let the flashback take over.
