Chapter Four ~ Newfound Love? ~
Jay's POV
He intertwined his arm in mine and we went on walking. He seemed thin...I wonder, though, if he had a noticeable six pack under his shirt. Im glad his personality is nice. My first friend in this neighborhood. And a hottie at that. He didn't reject that sudden kiss so I wonder if he's gay, or maybe confused. He could be bi too, though. He let me kiss him, it seemed.
I shook me head from my thoughts. My eyes consciously wondered to my side, where Ty clung to my arm. So cute. Almost like an adorable puppy. Or a bunny...
His face was visibly cherry-pink which made me smile. A slight giggle slipped past my lips. I could feel him jump a little at me laugh, then he looked up at me.
"W-what's so funny?"
I had a friendly expression on my face. I couldn't handle but be nice to him.
"You just seem so nervous walking next to me. Your face is adorably red." I said, not hiding the fact that I feel attracted to him.
His face exploded with a deeper red tint and his eyes shot back to look in the direction in front of him and so I did the same. I couldn't handle this silence very long, though. I was about to say something when I realized we were already in front of my house. Short walk....
"Here we are," I said, "let's go eat."
Ty unlooped his arm from mine and I opened the door, pointing inside with all five fingers, gesturing for him to come in first. He smiled a little with his pink cheeks, and curtsied like Lil' Bo Peep.
"Why thank you, Good Sir."
My house was pretty average. Couches, TVs, dining room, glass coffee tables.....all that jazz. I proceeded straight to the kitchen.
"SORRY 'BOUT THE PAINT! WE'RE STILL WORKING ON THE WALLS!" I yelled, hoping he'd hear me from our distance. I saw him stalk into the kitchen, his eyes searching everything in sight.
"It's okay...it's spacious." He said slowly, still searching the room with his gaze.
"Yeah. We haven't gotten many of our boxes unpacked yet."
I grabbed a pan and pasta and placed it on the counter. I went about the cooking, fully aware of Ty's eyes staring at me from behind. I turned to find him sitting in the living room. I could see him through the door frame. He was on his knees, sitting backwards, with his chin rested on his hands, looking at me cook with curiosity.
"What?"
There were about three seconds of silence before he spoke.
"Why did......why did you kiss me at the park?"
I stopped with the food with my hands and stared back. Was it a bad idea to have done that in the end? Fast and sudden moves never got me anywhere before. I wonder what I was thinking in the first place.
"What do you mean? I just wanted to say 'thank you' is all."
"You could've just said it then if you wanted to....." No emotions were showing on Ty's face at this point. He didn't even let his words falter. I gazed at the floor and then at my feet.
"Sorry. I don't really know why." I did know, though. I just didn't want to say it. I kept denying the real me. And love at first sight doesn't happen very often.
I heard the couch squeak a little and the next thing I knew, Ty was standing in front of my, looking up to meet my eyes. Like he was trying to solve a mystery, he poked my cheek. My face heated up with how close he stood now.
