Chapter Six ~ Ridin' in Style ~
Jay's POV
The second I heard Ty's voice, I looked up with a smile.
"Hey."
I saw Aspen skipping away in the other direction back towards the school. Had she seen me too then? Great, I feel like a stalker.
I leaned against my car and just watched him come over to my side. He wore a olive green vest on top of a white button up that was folded to his elbows and completed with a black tie that ran down a long distance. Jet black pants and boots that buckles up to his knees. The look was cute on him. He wore lots of bracelets on his wrists. A lot of them were rainbows. I chuckled to myself. I should ask him where he buys his clothes.
"I promise I'm not watching you 24/7 or anything..." I stuttered bashfully. I kind felt bad about what had happened last time with my sister. She didn't know about the real me. She couldn't know.
Ty shrugged. "I would complain..." He said and leaned next to me, crossing his feet and gazing up, his hand covering his face. It was bright today. Lots of birds and quick passes of breeze every once in awhile.
"What are you doing here then if you're /not/ stalking me?..."
"Hm?" A second of silence along with the sound of trees rustling.
"What are you here for?...I mean...I thought you started next week..."
I paid attention to his hair. The different shade if blonde and brown fit perfectly together in streaks, the loose short strands blowing in different directions.
"....-o?....-llo?...hello? Earth to JJ~"
A hand waved in front of my face and I blinked a few times, shaking me out of my daydream.
"Y-yes?" I probably looked stupid by now, forgetting about the setting to easily to think about Ty's appearance.
He gave me a look that kinda looked annoyed and fixed his sleeves up again. He was adorable the way he looked around at things.
"For the twentieth time now: why are you just standing in the parking lot?" Ty's eyes scanned over my face, paused at my lips then back to my eyes. I brushed the bangs from my eyes after the wind has messed them up.
"I...wanted to say 'hi', I guess?"
"Oh, yeah!...I forgot!" He suddenly said and dug through his pocket. I stepped to the side and held my hands up in the air. He then revealed a phone.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Woah there. That could've been a knife for all I know. Tell me what it is before you rip it outta your pocket." I laughed and brought my hands back down.
"Oh hush. It's just a 'cellular device'."he said with quotation marks and handed it to me. I gave a blank stare at it then looked at him. I was being such a smartass today.
"And what exactly am I supposed to do with this 'cellular device'?"
An amazingly cute giggle came from him. Unlocking the screen with a word-password, he was too quick for me to see it. I watched his slim hands. I wondered if it would be too quick to hold it. Of course, I didn't want anyone to see...it scared me to be judged by stared and whispers.
I blushed at the closeness and heard other students making their way to and from their cars with take out food from drive thru places.
"Put your number in, silly."
I speedily placed in my number and handed it back. I saw him typing again and I wondered how in the world he learned to type that fast.
"Who're you texting? So fast...jeez..."
He paused, smirked and back into his pocket it went.
"I'll take that as a compliment. And I was trying to figure out a name for you in my contacts."
Well now I'm curious. "And what's that?"
A girl, whose car was beside mine, looked Ty up and down with wicked eyes like he was dressed like some homeless person or something. A scoff was heard as she for into the drivers seat of her little blue jeep. Ty growled back and flipped her off as glare backed out of the parking spot with a frown on her face. She was probably PMSing and needed to be mad at someone. Girls are complicated. Ugh.
I ignored it, observing his attitude. He turned back to me, placing the smile back in his face.
"Don't worry. It's just your name." Again, another suspicious giggle. "Anyways, I didn't know you could drive..." He pointed to the sleek, jet black Lincoln I drove here in. I patted the roof of it.
"Yeah...I have my license but this is my sister's car. I kinda just use it every once in awhile. Buying a car with the prices of gas right now...not happenin'."
He gave an understanding nod and touched the hood of it, running his hand along it.
"Does it ride smoothly?" Ty leaned down to peek through the dark-tinted windows.
"Wanna go for a ride?"
His face lit up like a four year old getting a giant Lego© set for Christmas. He nodded and I pointed to the passenger side after hopping in front. There was a lot of room inside, tan leather seats that heated up at a push of a button. The speedometer and buttons up front glowed neon green and blue. The bass system in the back glowed as well. My sister knew her cars and got it for a really good price, and with help from her boyfriend, got it fixed up pretty nicely.
"Damn...this is amazing. So much leg room. Smells nice too." Ty was looking at me with a smile on his face.
I buckled myself in and waited for him to do the same. Better safe than sorry. I stared up the engine and it purred to life. I smiled and backed out of the parking spot. With that, he skipped the rest of his school day with me as I took off down the road.
