Brooke

The waiter showed up with our food, and placed it in front of us. When he left, Mason spoke up.

“That took long,” said Mason, “Sorry.”

“It’s fine,” I said, stuffing my mouth with spaghetti, “Who was it?”

“Nobody important.” said Mason, “Nobody as important as important as you.”

I widened my eyes and choked on the spaghetti, spitting it all over the table. He chuckled, while I blushed madly.

“S-Sorry,” I said, “I-I, uh, wasn’t-“

“It’s cool,” Mason said, cutting her off, “I spit my spaghetti on the table all the time.”

I laughed.

Mason

 “Did you know,” I asked, “that I’m running for Class Rep?”

“Wow, that’s great!” exclaimed Brooke, “Wait, what’s that?”

Oh, yeah, she’s never been to high school.

“Basically, when the summer’s over, I’m going to represent my class, when they want me to, uh, represent them.” I said, lamely.

“Wow, cool.” commented Brooke, not looking the slightest bit bored. 

"Yeah, so, you wanna help me run?" I asked, nervously.

Say yes. Say yes. Don't ruin the plan, Brooke. Say yes. Say y-

 "Mason?"

"Oh, yeah, sorry what?"

"You drifted off!"

Brooke laughed as I shrugged, and said the three words that just about made my day.

"I said yes."
