Chapter 1: Welcome to Speronör

[Ashlynn's POV]

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe we've finally graduated!" Liash squealed in joy, "I'm so going to miss all of you"

"Um, Li, you do realise we still have an entire month of self study to go through? Besides we'll all be coming back to school to study anyway" I laughed at my friend's melodrama as we walked out of the assembly hall.

"One month seems like such a long time dosent it?" Leo suddenly said from behind us. 'Yeah', I thought to myself, ' one month to study for the hardest, most nerve wrecking examination...the dreaded A levels'. Strangely I wasn't that nervous, probably due to the fact that I was mentally prepared for the worse case scenario.

"Well, let's worry about it when we get closer...right now I'm starving. Anyone up for lunch?"

We walked quickly to the school's cafeteria to grab a bite before the rest of the school started to swarm in. "Liash are you going to grab something to eat?" Leo asked for the one hundreth time and as usual she replied, "Nah, it's ok. I'm not hungry..."

"Oh my gosh liash! You. Have. To. Eat. Something" I said exaperatedly but to no avail, she just sat there giggling and taking out her notes to study. I shook my head in defeat. When we came back with our food, the fourth member of our little group was just sitting down. "Yo, Jillian, where'd you go?" I asked curiously.

"I went to check out the renovations to the gym"

"Were the renovations good?" Leo asked eagerly.

"No, they sucked...all the equipment was still as lousy as ever...renovations my foot. As usual there's still no way to train properly" Jillian scoffed indignantly, and so lunch continued aside the lively chatter until everyone had finished and the small group of friends walked upstairs to their usual study area which we dubbed our 'Chalet'.

Once we reached, I dropped my bag down on my usual seat and went to the bathroom to change into something more comfortable along with Liash and Jillian. When we came back Leo was talking to another friend from a different class so the rest of us settled down to study.

Leo only joined in to our studying sesson after almost an hour. 'Hmm, looks like someone was having another heart to heart talk' I thought to myself.

A few hours later, I looked up from my revision notes to take a break and I noticed it was already beginning to get dark. Suddenly my stomach gave a not so subtle rumble, thankfully everyone was listening to their music...or not as Jillian looked up from her book snickering and smiling teasingly at me, and I sheepishly asked, "anyone hungry?"

"Yes, definitely! I'm so hungry" Liash eagerly

"Great lets go then before the line gets long...race you guys there!" I said.

Leo rolled his eyes, "Oh my gosh Ashlynn, how old are we already?"

"Um 18" I laughed back, "Kay fine, if all of you want to queue so long, I'll see all of you downstairs!"

Dinner was over all too soon and we, or at least I, trudged back up to the study area. It was already dark outside but thankfully with the night came cool air that was gently blowing though the Chalet. All of us had decided earlier to stay back until 9pm to maximise our revision time.

When it was almost 9, the PA system crackled to life and announced, "Night study programme will end at 9pm, please leave the school premises punctually. Thank you". Slowly people started to pack up and leave, leaving the four of us alone at the Chalet.
