Harrison Wells in season one turned out to be Eobart Thawne, Reverse Flash. He killed the original Harrison Wells to kind of 'blend in'. But that wasn't the only reason. If you remember an episode from season one, you may have noticed Eobart saying about something 'happening soon', then the particle accelerator appeared. We found out that he built it on purpose so that he can train Barry to make him faster to take him back home, to the future. Now, analyzing this, I can conclude that the thing that was supposed to 'happen soon' was the particle accelerator explosion, with another evidence from Earth Two, seeing that that Harrison Wells also caused a particle accelerator explosion, by accident. Which means that when Barry stopped Eobart Thawne, Eobart may have never taken Harrison's image. That means that the normal Harrison could still be alive. As you have read before, there may be a particle accelerator explosion from the real Harrison Wells, by accident. This means that Barry could still be The Flash. Considering that the particle accelerator happened without Eobart, that means Barry's mother could have still been there when he becomes the Flash. Meaning that he may have still become a forensic scientist. But, here is the problem. Eobart made it happen sooner, so that means that if Barry manages to go back to the present, he might have to wait a few years. But that's where Cisco comes along.
