Emilia Anderson played by Kristen Stewart: Emilia is a 17 year old girl going into her final year of high school. Her life is perfect until her mother drags her across the country to start a new life in Vancouver. She struggles to fit in until she joins the drama club and meets the young teacher in charge of it.
Ben Dyck played by Robbie Amell: Ben is Emilia's perfect boyfriend; maybe too perfect. After Emilia leaves for Vancouver, Ben develops secrets that he would like to stay hidden.
Mr. Jaxon Porter played by Parker Young: Mr. Porter is a young teacher at McDale High in Vancouver. He takes charge of the struggling drama club and gets to further know Emilia in the process. With a 3 year old daughter at home from a failed marriage, sometimes Jaxon needs things to distract him from work and his family life.
Abby Thompson played by Jane Levy: Abby is Emilia's best friend, and she's devastated to be separated from Emilia. Her coping method might not be the best though.
Ms. Helena Anderson played by Reese Witherspoon: Emilia's mother. She works as a successful engineer who has raised Emilia alone after her husband left her when Emilia was a child.
Sammy Porter: Jaxon Porter's daughter.
