Opening the doors to our new apartment, I stepped inside and couldn't help but be amazed. The view was absolutely stunning and so was the apartment itself. Walking around, I had to admit, I did really like this place. I had a gorgeous room with a window seat and we even had a personal gym with a barre where I could keep practicing ballet.
A tiny part of me started to believe that I could actually like it here. It made me happy to see how overjoyed my mom was. She deserved a fresh start. She hadn't dated since my father left over 10 years ago because she was too busy taking care of me. I started hoping that she would be able to meet someone new here.
Before I could think too much about how to help her meet a nice guy, I was pulled from my thoughts by a knock on the door. I opened it and the delivery men came rushing in with all of our things. My mom took charge as always and was screaming directions at them for where everything had to go.
I was getting in the way during all of the chaos so I decided to head out and go explore the rest of the apartment building. When I reached the elevator, I chose a random button and it took me to floor 5. Looking around, I noticed that the public gym was on this floor. Since my private gym didn't have any equipment in it yet, I decided to use this one and go for a run on the treadmill.
I put my earphones in and cranked my music. I was interrupted when I saw a boy on the treadmill next to mine, flailing his arms to get my attention. I took my earphones out and asked "Do you want something?"
The boy grinned sheepishly at me and said "Sorry, I just noticed that you must be new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Spencer."
"I'm Emilia, nice to meet you."
"So did you just move here?"
"Yes, I'm actually from Winnipeg, Manitoba, but my mom got a promotion and dragged me all the way out here."
We talked for a while longer and I learned that Spencer was going into grade 12 at McDale High too. We exchanged numbers and I was extremely glad that I would know someone for my first day of school. After running for a few more minutes, I checked my phone and decided that it was time to head back to my apartment.
When I got back to my apartment, I opened the door to reveal the most attractive man I had ever met. He was sitting at the table, laughing at something my mom said. They both turned to look at me when they finally noticed me staring at them with my mouth wide open.
"Hi," he said, "I'm Jaxon Porter."
A/N: WOAH IT'S JAXON PORTER! I hope you're all enjoying the story so far! Seriously, don't be afraid to comment or send me a message to let me know what you think. I really appreciate any feedback. Thanks loves!
