Acorn nervously walked back and fourth from the nursery door, impatiently waiting for the healer to let him in. His sister, Silver had been giving birth. Then he stopped and prodded the ground with his paw that had a brown stripe. It had always reminded him of how each tribe held cats only with a certain color fur, he had hated it. Luckily the only color besides gray on his pelt was a brown stripe on his right paw. "Acorn!" Berry called. Acorn shot in the nursery with no hesitation. At the belly of Silver was a gray tom, and two a brown she-cats. Acorn stared, "wha- a brown kits!?" he gasped. "But ho-how!?" he frowned. At that moment, he heard a gasp for breath from Silver. He was to shocked to speak anymore. Silver's breaths became shallow and shallower ever minute. "Whats happening Berry!?" he begged as he saw his sister gasping for air. Berry had a frozen petrified look on her face. "What is it?" Acorn begged again. "She's dying..." Berry glanced at Acorn, having the same petrified look as before. "What?! No!" Acorn cried. He ran up to Silver and dug his head into her fur, "No, you can't die!" he cried. "Don't worry, please" Silver managed to say. "Take care of my kits for me- please. I know what I've done, and I don't deserve it. But please..." she glanced at Acorn. "Of course I will!" tears wear running down his face. "One of the she-kits will be Sparrow" Silvers coughed. Shallow breaths were coming from her. "Bye Acorn, and thank you" she gasped, then her eyes turned glassy and the shallow breaths turned into quietness. Acorn stared at his sister, unblinking. A small tear dropped on her feather soft fur, from Acorn. Then he shut his eyes tightly and denied her death, pretending she was still alive. "No!!!" he roared. Then his gaze turned to the kits. "Its your fault!" he cried weakly. Then he glanced at the poor, motherless kits. Berry was still in the room mourning her lost tribe mate, quietly. There was a long silence, as if a whole moon had passed Acorn looked at Berry then back at the kits, and broke the silence, "The she-kit's name is Sparrow" He flicked his tail to the brown she-cat with amber eyes."The other she-cat's name is Robin" his voice was thick with grief. "and the tom.." he thought, mind still clouded with grief for his sister. "And the tom's name is.. " he looked at his paws, "The tom's name is Finch," Berry nodded.
