I can't stop thinking about what happened between me and Marsh's Dad. Apparently it's really wrong to ask a man why their family looks like skittles barfed all over them. I mean I didn't put it like that but I did think it like that. He talked with me after dinner about why I was not like I should be, I found that more messed up than me asking the color question.
"Luna, you seem like a bright girl, that knows what she wants to do," He started saying.
"Well, you're almost right there. I did know what I wanted to do, but know all I can safely say is that I want to be with your son," I said back. I wouldn't lie to him, not with mine and Marsh's relationship at stake.
"I can see that. I can also that the truth shines bright in you, very bright. I can tell you care about Marsh, but I have one small question for you. Do you believe that you can do what you know you can't?"
"Sir, with all do respect that is not a question you should be asking me. I can safely answer that... I do not believe that I could, not with what it is that I already know."
"That's all I wanted to know. Now go on ahead, you seem like the kind of gi-" At that moment, that one moment in time my phone went off.
"I am so sorry about that. This will be one minute, I promise." As I pulled out my phone and read the number I questioned why Uncle Sky would be calling me. As we talked along the phone he said that he wanted to come by and talk to me. Many times, many times.
"I am really sorry about that, I just... my Uncles have been trying to make sure I'm okay," I said putting my phone away.
"It's quite alright. Who is your Uncle, the one you were talking to?"
"Oh. That's my Uncle Sky. He just wanted to see if I would be home later."
"Your Uncle, Sky?" As he stood up and cleared his throat he made his way to the door, "Miss. Luna I believe we are done here. I don't want you around my son right now."
"DAD!" Marsh screamed.
"YOU STAY SILENT MARSH! I HAVE MADE RULES CLEAR WITH THAT OF FAMILY ISSUES! Now Luna, I believe you should start going, don't want to leave your... Uncle waiting."
"With all do respect Sir, no. You are not going to Romeo and Juliet this up. I love your son and because of family, you cannot change that. I'm sorry, but today I do not listen." I looked back towards Marsh, a smile as bright as anything, and a face as red as anything else.
"Girl, you are not to act like this in the manor of me."
"And you are to call me by my name. It's Luna, or can you not spell that to say it?"
"Leave now Luna. This is not more of a choice."
"Yeah, he's right Luna, let's go," Marsh said as he took my hand and headed for the door. The bravest yet stupidest thing to do when your Father is telling someone that at that point was meant to be you ex, to leave. Leaving with them.
"No, Marsh, I'm not letting this do anything to your family." As I stopped my words and kissed him on the cheek I had to force back tears. This was the hardest thing. I could of done, but I'm glad I did it. "Good Bye Marsh." I let go of his hand and walked away. Once out of view of their house I ran back to mine and by the time I got there my eyes were filled with tears.
Diego had come to my side soon after and was licking the tears out of my eyes. As I brushed back his fur I thought about everything that's happened. I've fallen in love, I've kissed someone, I've given Midnight a home, I've given one to Diego, and I've followed my dreams with all my heart. Dancer, songwriter, and then my best friends.
"Diego, wh-why does love hurt so much?" I asked. It was so weird that I was talking to a dog but I had no one else to talk to. It was to late at night to call Nicole, Dante I didn't want to talk to about love, and everyone else was probably asleep. Diego barked and brushed past me and out the slightly opened door. I didn't move from near the door, I left it opened and kept the cold air against my face, and the tears stringing down my eyes. When Diego came back to me, Laurance was with him. He closed the door and helped me to the coach.
"Luna, are you okay?" He asked placing his arm around my shoulders.
"L-Laurance, I-I can't take this anymore," I said. He cleared the tears from my eyes and brushed my hair out of my face, "Marsh and I just broke up."
"What? Luna, that can't be right. What happened?"
"I don't wanna talk about it."
"Luna, Diego brought me here for a reason, now what happened?" As I told him back the story he questions many things, then question what made me let Marsh just leave from my grasp.
"He-He has a family that's here. They care about him, and I've seen this before, if I didn't, I don't think they would've talk to him again," I said as Laurance wrapped his arms around me and squeezed me tight.
"Your heart was in the right Luna. I think you just need to find that one guy that knows you, and that one guy that's family will know you for the real you. Not your family. So hey make mistakes, you have more than enough people here to help pick up the pieces.'
"Thanks Laurance. Maybe there is a reason that Diego brought you here. He might just see more than us," I said as Laurance moved his arms from around me.
"Ka. Feel better?" He asked with this goofy face that made me break into laughter, "There's the girl I know!"
"Is this the girl you know to," I said given him one in the gut, "Don't think I didn't notice your hands."
"Deserved."
"Very much so." We both broke out laughing and popping jokes out right and left. By Midnight we were so tired I just pulled out some old blankets, threw them one the coach, and let Laurance stay there for the night. I smiled back up to my room, and when I picked up the picture of Marsh and me on our First Date as a real couple, I put it in one of my many shelves face down and kept smiling. Looking out my window I could see Garroth and Dante in their backyard. I smiled as I looked at them, maybe I could find someone else that's family would like me, for me, maybe.
Thoughts raced threw my head as I flew to my desk and started writing a new song. It might not of been perfect, but it worked.
Later I went to make sure Laurance was okay on the coach and saw Diego sitting near him, they really like each other. Hmm. I ran back up stairs shut my door and climbed into bed. Things were messed up right now, but that's how they should be... right? I smiled through the night as I heard soft sounds of the piano from one side of the house and gutiar from the other. With that note I had fallen asleep into a deep wonderland... or Neverland. One of the two lands.
