Chapter Eight☪
The vampire's face blanched at Sean's appearance. He forcibly gripped the older woman's neck, teeth gritting with blistering anger as he glared at Luna. "You've hired a dog for protection? This wasn't according to our plans, sweet."
Sean strides forward, tucking Luna behind him. "Release the female," he commanded.
He assumed the female was a acquaintance of Luna's. The older woman was frozen with fear, wide eyes brimming with unshed tears.
As Sean sized up the vampire, he considered that the vamp was no match for him. Except, he already has his palm around the woman's neck; putting Sean in a vulnerable position.
"Luna," the older woman managed, grasping at the vampire's fingers in an attempt to escape from his clutches. "Leo's-" she wheezed as the fingers around her nape squeezed tighter. The woman frantically pointed her eyes towards the wardrobe beside Sean.
Luna reached for a baking wooden rolling pin on the counter without thinking and charged towards the vampire. "You fucking creep!" Swinging blindly.
You half-witted woman!
Instantly, Sean transformed into Lycaon's form, forcing his six foot height to grow another foot; his rigid muscles expanding. Before Sean's bulky frame could tackle into the man, the vampire swiftly twisted the older woman's neck.
The corner of the older woman's eyes webbed scarlet. Luna screeched, half floating, surging towards the vampire with immense speed and clonked the vampire at the back of his head. "You fucking bastard!" The force of the swing with her newly found vampire strength sent him pummeling forward into Sean's tackle.
Sean mauled the vampire's face. A crack sounded, but before he could land his final blow, he was thrown off the vampire with an invisible force.
"My apologies, but I am going to have to stop you right there," a cloaked woman in a glittering azure robe interrupted. She materialized from the far corner of the room amidst the altercation. The mystery woman sported another woman over her shoulder, who was passed out cold. "Jax, you're a fucking pain in the ass to babysit."
With those last words, a mist formed from the ground, blanketing the vampire and the mystery woman. Sean swept his heavy arm in a pursuit to prevent the intruders from disappearing.
Too late.
"Where did they go?" Luna asked incredulously. "They took Rissa!" Marching towards Sean she grasped his biceps aggressively. "Take me to them!"
Is she not afraid of my Lycaon appearance?
Sean removed the rolling pin from her hold. "And what are you going to do?" He tossed the pin to the side, the heavy wooden cooking tool thudded against the room's carpet floor. "Are you planning on rolling them to death?"
Her pale face flushed with color. "I don't give a damn how, but I will murder that annoying fuck! I can't believe they dragged Rissa into this! She's fucking innocent!" Luna's hands trembled from anxiety. She wanted to act immediately.
"Do you know of him personally?" Sean questioned, switching gears into interrogation mode. "If you've chosen to transport here, now is the time to fetch for what you've wanted." He rubbed the back of his neck, easing himself into his normal form.
Luna nestled the older woman into her embrace. "I'm so sorry," she hiccuped as she smoothed the strands of hair matted to the woman's face. "I'm so sorry." She chanted, tears streaking her face.
Ach. Sean's heart clenched at the sight of Luna's despair. As he realized his palm was reaching to pat her shoulder in consolation, he hastily withdrew in a hiss.
Do not sympathize with a leech.
He felt a heavy weight on his chest at the sounds of Luna's soft sobs. Unable to restrain himself, his palm rested against the top of Luna's head. Awkwardly, he patted her. His gesture unfamiliar.
Luna's back bowed as her sobs grew. She reached to ease the woman's eyes shut. Gently, she laid the woman against the soft carpet floor. "L-Leo." Was all she muttered, before pushing the only wardrobe in the room to the side; revealing a tiny hidden door. "I know she wanted to tell me that he's hiding in here, he's got to be."
Sean watched as Luna twisted the door knob. Within the miniature dim lit room, a wee boy seated on the ground, his ears covered with his hands. His head between his legs.
"Leo!" Luna closed the distance, reaching for the child.
He didn't want to think it.
Sean only surveyed the situation.
The young one's head lifted, big violet eyes searched for Luna's face. His thick dark lashes were wet, glistening with tears. The boy's lower lip trembled as his voice shook. "Luna?"
There was no doubt about it.
They wore similar facial features.
They have the same spellbinding violet eyes.
The same dark obsidian locks.
She has a child.. My mate has a son.
