Screeching.
That was the first sound that shot through the small basket like box, as it shot through the air.
In the far corner, breathing heavily and rubbing her light hazel eyes furiously, sat a small, skinny girl. Sweat beaded at the base of her neck, and her fragile looking body shook in fear.
She had long before noticed the built body of a young boy laying in front of her, though her fear made her stay where she was, even as the boy lay unmoving.
Her mind was fuzzy, and she couldn't remember how she had gotten in the cage like box. In fact, she couldn't remember anything.
Not even her name.
Suddenly, the boy shot up with a gasp, air finally filling his lungs as he looked around the box in panic.
His eyes had yet to travel over the small girl beside him; he had been too interested in trying to discover where he was.
"Hello?!" the boy's deep voice called out, hoping someone anyone would answer his call and tell him what was going on.
He turned his body, and heard a slight whimpering, causing his movements to stop as his brown eyes wandered over to the girl.
She was scared, it was plainly obvious, and she was hiding her face in her small hands.
The boy's curiosity had gotten the best of him and he hesitantly reached forward.
"A-Are you okay?" He asked, trying to keep his voice low, as to not frighten the already trembling girl.
However, his plan failed.
The girl had jumped away from his touch as if he had burned her.
Though she didn't have much time to react, and neither did he, as the box came to a sudden stop, and the top was opened.
Sunlight shone down brightly, causing the two to cover there eyes, not being used to the brightness.
The girl was thankful, the dark was not her favorite place. Especially with a stranger being there. Especially in a place she knew nothing about.
She gasped, and scooted away when a muscular boy, who looked particularly frustrated, jumped into the small box.
"Rise and shine, Greenie."
He was talking to the other boy, and hadn't seemed to notice her existence. That is, until a deep voice from above shouted with such awe in his voice, it caused her to look up at the large group above her.
"It's a girl!"
After the boy in the box was pulled up, the angry looking one grabbed her arm, and lifted her with ease. The group above reached for her with greedy arms, until she was planted right in the middle of a group of boys.
Just boys.
That was it.
She felt her heart beat increase at an alarming rate, and her breathing got shallower and shallower by the second.
Finally, her small body gave way, and the last thing she heard before she hit the ground was;
"We got a runner!"
Then her vision was taken over by darkness.
