"Hello, hello. How are you?"
"I'm fine. How are you?"
"Not too bad. Did you get to bed at a reasonable time?"
"Yeah, 1:00. Thanks to you keeping me up with that movie."
"Hey, you gave it to me. It's all your fault."
Thomas and Jacqueline both knew they were lying at that point and burst out laughing. Jacqueline had gone to bed at 1:00, but Thomas had been in bed since 12:00. Jacqueline had eaten almost all the cereal last night before she fell asleep. Dylan had come upstairs at that point looking very tired.
"Hey, little man. You're up."
"What time is it?"
"Only 7:00. You slept in quite a bit."
"I wanna go back to bed."
"Tonight, Dylan. Now that you're up, we have something to tell you."
"Uh oh. We have to stay here forever cause Aunt Belle won't be coming? Yay."
"Not that. I'll let your sister tell you the good and bad news."
"Thanks, Tommy. The bad news is that the crash victims were really mom and dad. We are technically orphans."
Dylan's eyes started filling up with tears but before they could spill out, he wiped them away. "And the good news?" he asked. Jacqueline intertwined her fingers with Thomas' as she spoke.
"I broke up with Adam and I am now with Thomas."
Dylan's face lit up and he smiled so much that his face started to hurt. He squealed with joy and hugged both of them. Thomas and Jacqueline laughed at how much energy and how excited he was.
"Okay that's enough. You are kinda choking me." Jacqueline got out as Dylan let his arms around them go.
"Thomas, thanks so much for going out with my sister. You're a good guy. But know this, if you ever hurt her, you have me to deal with. Got it?"
"Yes sir. But now, you gotta get dressed. We're all going on a walk. Just the three of us."
"Where are we gonna go?"
"Wherever you want. You get to pick, little man."
"YES! I wanna go to Disney!"
"Maybe another time, Dylan."
"Wait, wait, wait. I said he got to pick WHEREVER he wanted to go. And we can get 2 seperate rooms. My parents would also love to come along."
"M'kay. You're parents and Dylan in one room, and us two in the other room."
"Sounds good. You gonna go pack?"
Dylan ran downstairs to go get his bags to pack them for the week. Since it was Friday, and it was a day off, the three of them went for a walk to the park and back. When they got back, Thomas packed the suitcases and backpacks into the car, got his parents, Jacqueline, Dylan, and himself into the car, and they drove off.
