Friday evening. Vicky insisted in going shopping for my first date with Danny. We were walking in the city. I had never been shopping without my mom before, so I was really excited. Vicky knew all the shops by heart and I was just following her. Shop in, shop out. After two hours walking through all the shops and not having found anything that appealed to me, we stepped into a coffee shop I'd never been before. There were a lot of girls and boys from school in there. While walking towards a small table in the corner of the shop, some of them turned around to see us and then whispered something to each other. They were talking about us. No. Not us. About ME. I just knew what they were thinking: "What is she doing here? I've never seen her here before."

We sat down and after a few minutes a waiter showed up.

-Two cappuccinos, please. Vicky ordered.

-Make that one and an earl grey tea. I said. I don't drink coffee, as I don't find it so healthy. I prefer a tea.

After the waiter was gone we started talking.

-So where are we going next? I asked Vicky, hesitating.

-Uh.. She took a while to think about it. Well, we can go to Valeinn. It's a shop, only three minutes walking from here. She finally said. I wasn't sure if we would find anything there. Stop it, I thought, you don't even know how it looks like from the outside. Vicky saw my concerned look.

-And... If we won't find anything there, then... She hesitated. Then we can go to which ever shop you want to go.

-Really? Thank you a lot, but... I stopped there.

-But what? Is there something wrong? Vicky asked.

-No no, it's ok. Thank you. I smiled.

In Valeinn.

-Look, Alyssa! Vicky was holding a blue shirt with glitter on it. This one must look stunning on you! I didn't like it. Really. It looked like she was holding a disco ball.

-I don't know if-

-You have to try it on! Danny will sooo fall in love with you! She cut me off. Oh,and try these on, too! She gave me the shirt and a pair of white  trousers and pushed me into a changning room without letting me say a word.

When I came out, Vicky whooped while jumping. She ran towards me and pulled me in front of the mirror. Yep, they could take me like that, hang me from a hook in the ceiling of a disco and turn all the lights in my direction. I would look exactly like a disco ball. Nobody would notice I'm a human and not a disco ball.

-You look fantastic! Vicky shouted in my ear. One day she's going to deafen me. For sure.

-I.. I don't know. This shirt. It's shines so much and... These trousers are really slim. I tried to convince her that we shouldn't buy it without hurting her.

-They're meant to be that slim. That's why they're called skinny jeans! Hello? On which planet do you live? That was either sarcasm or a really stupid question. I went for the second.

-On Earth, of course! You know, it's impossible to live on...

-That was sarcasm! She shouted. So it was sarcasm. Well I'm not so fast in figuring out whether someone is being sarcastic or not. Anyway, I really think you should get them. Both shirt and trousers.
