Without thinking, I ran as fast as possible through the hallways to the toilets. I stopped abruptly as soon as I got in and took a deep breath. Tears were falling down my cheeks. I walked towards the sink and looked in the huge mirror which hang above it. Look at you, I thought, you look awful. I washed my face and grabbed my mascara out of my backpack. I applied it to my eyelashes and looked again in the mirror. Better. I took one more deep breath and headed for the door when I heard a familiar voice behind me.

-Hello, Alyssa. I turned around and saw Valerie standing in front of me. How are you? She asked trying to be nice. You could see she didn't mean it.

-Fine. I answered.

-Okay. Uhm.. I just wanted to say that it's really kind of you to invite me to your party. Wait, what? Why do you look so shocked? Is there a problem?

-No, no. Your welcome, I think. I mumbled the last words, but she didn't seem to care. Hm, strange.

-So. You said everybody had to bring something to eat or drink, right? I nodded. Okay. Well, I don't know what to bring, so maybe you know something? She smiled. Fake!

-Maybe you could bring some juice. I said calmly and smiled back. Again, fake.

-Juice? She laughed. Okay then. I have to go now. Bye!

-Bye... I said. Hm, really strange. Then the bell rang.

In the break before the last lesson, I ran into Vicky.

-Hey! How are you? I said.

-I'm fine. You? She answered.

-I'm cool.

-Cool? You never answered like that in the past.

-So? I answer now like that. I saw Cory yelling Vicky's name in the distance. Is she still with that jerk? Vicky turned around and smiled when she saw "Rudolph" walking to her. You know, because he has a big nose! Hah, I laughed inside of me. Back to serious now, I said to myself and straightenedmy back. Vicky, Rudolph is searching for you. I said. She looked at me angrily.

-I don't want you to call Cory like that. She said acting like I hurt her.

-Look I need to talk with you and I don't want him to hear what I'll say. She looked at me and then back to her boyfriend, who was getting closer and closer.

-Okay, wait. She said and walked to him. I don't know what she said but he left. Nice.  What is it? She asked me when she got back.

-Okay, look. First of all, tomorrow I'm having a birthday party and I was wondering if you would want to come. I said.

-Yeah of course. We're best  friends, right? She smiled.

-Okay, just don't tell your parents about it. And it's not a slumber party. It's a normal party. At 9 p.m.

-Right, but why can't I tell my parents? What should I say then?

-It doesn't matter why. Tell them we are going to have a movie night, just the two of us.

-Okay. She said, but I could see she didn't understand. Doesn't matter, I thought.

-Now, there's something else I wanna tell you. It's about Cory. She looked at me like she already knew what I was going to say. Look, it's just... He is untrustworthy. You know. You can't trust him.

-What?! Is that what you wanted to say? That I shouldn't tust my own boyfriend?! She was shouting. Unbelievable!

-Don't shout. Listen, you deserve better! You shouldn't be with someone like him. I looked at hoping she would calm down a bit.

-So you're saying I should break up with him? Hell no! I'm in love with him. She was talking more quiet now. I can't... He is so kind and nice and helpful. He is so smart and very funny. Hahahah yeah right, I was laughing so so hard inside of me, but didn't show any of it.

-Vicky. You've got to listen to me now. He isn't any of what you said. She was turning red of anger, but I couldn't stop. She had to know. He is rude, unsocial, everything he says is incomprehensible and as dumb as a donkey. Also, he isn't funny at all. You are the only one who laughs with his "jokes". She looked really angry. Uh oh, I thought, maybe I said too much at once.

-You know what. I'm done. You are the rude one in here, you know that? Or doesn't that clever brain of you know what rude really means. She was shouting even louder than before. It's not even your business who I'm dating. But you know what? Since you meddle with other people's affairs, I will mind your affair too for one time. Let's see. Being in love with someone you could never get and suddenly he talks to you. You go on one date and you kiss him already. You can't stop thinking about him and then you become boyfriend and girlfriend. You leave your best friend behind you and only say one hi when you see her and also stop minding school, which was your favourite place before. Then you start having lower marks and wonder why. All the time you are with your boyfriend and go to clubs and disco's and party's and totally forget the rest of the world. You're becoming ruder and ruder and all the time more and more unsocial and then you come and tell me I should break up with my boyfriend?! Maybe YOU should do that better because you're together only for 3 weeks and have changed entirely to the worse, while Cory and me are together for already 2 years and I haven't changed so much. Maybe you should consider that! And you know what I believe? I believe that this Danny isn't anything good. He's not a good company for you and you are the one who should break up with him, before you get slammed in the face by him. Wow! Oh, and one more thing. I'm not coming to your party tomorrow and I wish it'll suck! Saying that she took a deep breath turned around and walked away.

Everybody was staring at me and I felt very uncomfortable. Luckily the bell rang so I could quickly run to the classroom. After that lesson I would meet up with Danny to talk about my party.

I walked towards that cute blonde guy who was waving at me. Danny

-Hey babe. He said and kissed me and, like normally, I melt.

-Hi. I said and put a stroke of my hair behind my ear. You already invited all your friends via facebook, huh? He nodded.

-Yeah. And uhm.. I invited Valerie, Rose and Gina (her friends) too. I hope you don't mind.

-About that, I found out by myself. She came to me and thanked me. That was really strange. Anyway, why did you do that? I asked full of curiosity.

-Well, I thought that if we invited them, they might be a bit more polite to you. You know, maybe this hostility between you two will end. I don't like the idea of having my ex-girlfriend bully my current girlfriend. It doesn't feel good.

-That's so sweet. And it's a good idea. Thank you. I said and pecked him on his cheek. Now, did you call your cousin? Can he be the DJ?
