Those words were still haunting you. Mother, I'm going to tell mother. If Cameron understood, if he KNEW we had a step mom, one who, who... why there were bruises on me, not from soccer, she, she... she was a monster. She hit me, she BEAT me, if he still knew. After father had left, mother didn't want us. She threw us out. We were adopted, I was the dumb, ugly one, so I was treated terribly. Although, Cameron was treated like a prince. I was just a slave, a poor, slave. Your step mother hadn't even checked on you since you were gone. Two f*cking weeks, and nothing. God, I know you love me, that's why you hit me all the time, right? "Hailey? Hailey?" Nash said. "Ugh" you managed to force out. "Your ready to go. Let's get out of here." He carried you out, and drove you home. You began silently crying. We stopped at a stoplight, and Nash looked at you. "Why are you crying?" You didn't face him, and stayed silent. "Please? I don't like to see you sad." He sighed. "I'm fine, just really sad I was away from Cameron and my-" your voice went away. You could manage to say it. "Who?" He asked. "What? What are you talking about?" You shifted awkwardly. "You said Cameron and my-" he exclaimed "then you stopped." We arrived at my house. "Oh it's nothing. BYE." You walked into your house. Silence. It was just as it was before, and you slowly walked up the stairs, hoping to be unnoticed. "Hello, Hailey." You turned. "Oh um, hey mom! I missed you so much!" Not... "Where were you?" She asked, her voice cold. "Oh, I was in the hospital. I got in a car crash. Almost died." She grunted "wish you did." You sighed "Don't give me attitude young lady!" She yelled "I'm sorry mother. I didn't mean to disappoint you. I need to do homework, I'll talk later." She grabbed your hair "Your lying to me young lady! Aren't you?" she slapped you across the face "No mother! I'm not!" She threw you against the wall. "Shut up! You liar! You were out with that man again, the one with the blue eyes. DO NOT LIE TO ME OR DISRESPECT ME UNDERSTOOD?" You were holding back tears. "Yes, mother..." Then you went up the stairs, and started crying. You locked your door, and grabbed your knife. One, two, three, four, five. Blood tracked down your arms, tears streamed down your face. Why me? Why can't he remember, why can't I remember everything, I swear they did something but...you heard a noise. Forget it. Not anything.. Your door opened. "CAM GET OUT I SWEAR I LOCKED THE DOOR." He was smiling, for a moment. "Hailey...hailey what..." His eyes trailed to your arms and his smile faded. "Why... Why are you...you doing this?" You felt like someone had stabbed you in the heart when his tears came."I, I've been meaning to tell you for a while... but..." He became angry "BUT WHAT?! What excuse could you POSSIBLY have now?" Your tears came out faster and faster..."I'm sorry. I must go." You opened your window and before Cameron could do anything, you jumped out, and ran. And before you left, you said "I hate you, Cameron Alexander Dallas! I HATE YOU!"
