We only had one fight on the way to the twins' 'hideout'. We (stupidly) went down an alleyway and guns started firing at us. We never should have gone down an alleyway because it meant that thee were no witnesses if we just happened to get murdered down there. Which we almost did. We all ran in different directions, back down the alleyway, over walls, into houses... Ali and I ran into a house of which the door was left unlocked and ran smack bang into a lady that had been walking through her house.

"What the..." She said as darts ricochet off the outside of the house. I took her hand and shook it heartily in an attempt at a joke.

"Nice to meet you!" I said and we ran further into the house.

"Bye!" Ali said as we leave. We accidentally knocked over a couple of vasses as we rushed through and the wall just happened to get a burn mark on it when I jumped when a dog ran at us.

We ran out of the hose and into the backyard, then I lifted Ali over the fence and leapt over myself. We landed almost on top of Jemma and Juliet, who Jemma was luging along.

"Quick!" Jemma hissed, "Into this house here, it is our hideout!" I raised an eyebrow at the scruffy house but went in anyway since there wasn't much choice.

River came tumbling down the alleyway and I silently beckoned him into the house. Once we were all in there and the door was shut, the gunshots got quieter and sounded like they were moving away, then they stopped.

"Safe." I breathed. "So... This is your place?"

Jemma nodded. "It actually belongs to one of our friends who is very rich. Her family had this place as a holiday home... for some reason, it seems really shabby for a holiday home... but when we showed our friend our powers, she took them suprisingly well by the way, well, she said that we could use this house to hang out in until we found another place to go. We did say that we weren't going to stay here for long because flicker said..." She pauses and looks away.

"Flicker?" I said.

She sniffed and a tear trickled down from her eye.

"She was a friend of ours... a close friend..."

We sat there silently, knowing not to push it.

"She was like us. She had a power." She looked at me painfully, "She was a fire, like you."

I gasped and looked away, forcing away the tears that were forming in my eyes. I didn't even know the girl, why was Icrying?

"She told us of a wonderful place. She said that she saw it in her dreams. It was a place where people like us wouldn't be freaks, where we belong. She said that we needed to get there and she made us promise to take her there. Then they came. Those soldiers. We had a huge fight and we were both badly injured. We figured out that we could heal... Do you know that yet? Anyway, it was too late for her. Apparently we cant heal when it is a fatal wound. She was killed." She burst into tears and sobbed into her hands. Tears trickled down Juliet's' face and she slowly lifted a hand to wipe it away. She spoke, slowly and slurred.

"Just... ignare... us... tell... us... about... ya."

So I explained our whole situation and told them everything that happened so far since we got our powers and River chipped in with tit-bits of information as we went along. The twins sat there silently while we recalled out story, something that did not seem like it would be easy for Jemma to to do.

"Oh," Jemma said when we finished. "Seems like you've had quit an adventure! We haven't done much, just had that big fight and then sat here on our fat butts trying to ration the f-" She stopped and went red. "The... the... the... we were trying to manage, not ration, the f...laundry... the flaundrey!"
