This one is short. So we had to read this story called The life you save may be your own, and then we had to re-write the ending. Being the demented person I am, I well...just read.

The first one to die was the little boy. As soon as he jumped out of the man's car he regretted it. The turnip finally touched down and swirled a little before moving towards him where he was dusting himself off from his leap. He leaned down towards the ground to collect his cardboard suitcase but just as he did, the turnip leaned down to collect him. He didn't last long before flying signs and trees collided into him. His last thought was of his mother whom he called a flea bag and how the man was right about his mother loving him.

Mr. Shiftet was just barely ahead of the galloping shower, but it was catching up quickly like an old friend you hoped never to see again. Within seconds the fantastic raindrops had covered his car from read to hood. The thunder roared overhead and the car swerved a little. Each time it would roar a little louder and the car would swerve a little closer to the cliff rail. Until the last one came; the loudest ROAR. And the car went straight through the railing and over the cliff. Mr. Shiftlet let out a silent prayer, "Gawd, I don't wanna die." Then his thoughts changed, "Maybe it's for the best. I don't know what would happen if that woman found out that I left her daughter." And then his car crashed into the ground with a loud bang and a sickening crunch.

Back at the farm house Lucynell, the mother, was watching as the clouds approached. She could smell the rain and she was beginning to worry of her daughter. "I hope that man don't be stupid and drive through this." She continued to pace back and forth until the rain caught. She retreated inside to watch it from safety.

At the diner Lucynell, the daughter, had just woken up. The serving boy brought her out a plate of fried fish and placed it in front of her. She just looked at it not knowing what to think. She glanced towards the window and saw the turnip coming towards the diner. She heard the rain splattering on the roof but was unsure of what to call in. Just before the trunio crashed into the building she had one last thought, "Burrttddt?" And then the diner was lifted into the funnel and carried away towards the farm house.

Back at the farm house, Lucynell could see the turnip approaching. She didn't know if it was bad enough to go down stairs or not. Not one had ever touched down this close in all of her life. But as it got closed and closer she began to wonder if her daughter and Mr. Shiftlet had made it somewhere safe. Maybe they had. The turnip was right upon her and she knew there was no time to run. She would just have to sit it out. And her last thoughts were of Lucynell, the daughter.
