The moonlight felt surprisingly warm on Tell-Tale's pelt as he sat on the rock, gazing up at the stars. The mountain seemed so high up, yet Tell-Tale felt so small down here. The huge mountain stretched up to touch the sky; the cliff sticking out, which Tell-Tale sat upon, was a claw, scratching the terrain below.
His attention was snapped back to reality as he heard paw steps from his left. Turning his head, he noticed three, huge shapes lumbering toward him.
"Storm." Tell-Tale growled, standing up on the massive rock. "What are you doing back so early? And where's Kali?"
"Sir." Storm panted, shaking out his pelt. "We tried to attack the cats and-"
"Did you kill them? Did you kill the prophesied cat?" Tell-Tale broke him off.
"Yes, Sir, just let me explain." His icy blue eyes stared up at his leader with pleading fear. "We tried, but Kali turned on us."
Tell-Tale looked taken aback, his dark, amber, scarred eyes widening in angry shock. "What do you mean turned on you?" He growled.
"We were about to ambush, Sir." Toxic chipped in, his deep voice rumbling through the mountainside. "But she wouldn't join us. She attacked Storm and drove us out."
Tell-Tale paused to gander at Storm's muzzle, which was plastered with still-fresh scars. "Drove you out?" He whispered. "Drove you out?!" He bared his teeth in a furious snarl. "We do not just get 'driven out.' We do not give up that easily!"
"Sorry sir..." Nightmare murmured, bowing her head, her ears flattening.
"Storm." Storm's ears pricked at the mention of his name. "Go and find Jasper. Tell him and his 'friends' to meet us here. We will finish this battle once and for all."
"Yes sir." Storm dipped his head gratefully, bounding away in the direction of a steadily flowing river.
"And you two." Tell-Tale growled, hopping off the rock. "You're going to help me arrange an attack plan. And it better work this time."
"But-" Toxic began.
"Quiet!" Tell-Tale snapped, unsheathing his claws. "We are all going to fight on this mountainside, and me, you, Storm and Jasper are going to shed every droplet of those guys' blood until there is nothing left of them but bones."
