"Dad, Why do we have to move?" I asked as I put boxes into the moving truck. My dad came along side me carrying a box, that he put into the truck.

"Because, I got a new job, and Grace this is a big opportunity for me, and you should be happy for me." my dad replied looking at me.

"I know, and I am happy for you. I'm just not happy that i have to leave all of my friends behind, ones that I've known since grade school." i  said, looking away, my brown hair falling into my face as tears swelled up in my eyes.

"I know Grace, but you can always make new friends." He said to me, pushing the hair out of my face.

"yeah i guess so, it is just hard to leave the ones you love, Just like Mom", i said as a tear rolled down my cheek, i quickly wiped it off, and tried not to think about the memory of losing my mom, at the age of six. I tried not to think of it, but everyday I do, and I never really got over he fact, that my mom wont be there for the huge milestones in my life, when i get married, have a kid, and not being able to talk to her about things going on in my life.

"Okay sweetie are you ready?" my dad asked as he put the last box into the truck.

"Yeah, I guess" I replied dragging my feet to the passenger side of the truck. i slowly got in and prepared myself for the long trip ahead of us.
