What is a body positivity account? Simply an account that supports the body positivity movement and tries to inspire you so you can be okay with who you are. Whether it wants to make you feel good with your skin, your height or your weight; the last one being the most common one.

Now, is Body Positivity in social media always right? Sadly, it isn't. Let me explain to you the reason.

First of all, in our world, there's a big obsession for having lots of followers, likes, comments or whatever, in our social media. I, sometimes feel sad when I, for example, upload something and don't get as much likes as I would love to. So, due to this, some people create accounts just to prove that they can have hundreds of followers, and what's a way to gain them easily? Creating accounts that they know people will like. And to them, it doesn't matter if they know about the account theme, they just want the followers.

Body Positivity has become a trending topic in our society and, even though surprisingly, in pop culture too, meaning that crowds love the movement because our world works like that. That has converted the beautiful campaign on the perfect target for fake body positivity accounts.

That's the reason why we sometimes have encounters with skinny, white, black, fat shaming accounts. Some people do not know what body positivity is about and they just upload pictures, quotes, etc, that contains hurtful words.

My advice is to be careful with who you follow. People need to know that body positivity supports all kind of colours and bodies. It's not only about telling fat people they are beautiful the way they are, it's about telling them that if they want to lose weight, it's okay. It's about telling skinny people that it's okay to gain some pounds. It's about showing tall and short people that their height does not make them who they are.

The campaign is about loving you and staying healthy.

Want to know what you need to post on social media so it can be body positivity certified? Well, keep reading because I will give you what I like to call a "GUIDE ON BODY POSITIVITY FOR DUMMIES".

First of all, you need to select the social media you will be working on. Instagram? Twitter? Facebook? Or, maybe Snapchat? All good platforms to inspire humans (or, why not, aliens) on earth.

Next, you need to have in mind that sometimes, people does not want to hear the typical "oh, but you are beautiful, stop saying you are not". Sometimes what they want to hear is an "I get what you mean"; they want to know that the person they're talking to is empathic. I learned this from Tessa Violet, the youtuber. So instead of posting a quote going with the lines of "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE YOU ARE" post something like "accept you they way you are, you were born this way."

Step number three is that you can't forget that any kind of shaming is unacceptable. You don't need to insult skinny to compliment fat and vice versa. Same goes with the height, the nationality and the colour. If you say white is beautiful, then remember that black and yellow are too. And you can't take for granted the religions.
