I turned around to see Manuel Jimenez, a classmate I've known since the 9th grade. Manuel "Mani" for short has had a crush on Jen since like forever! I knew he is a great person but Jen never gave him the chance. Jen always had a thing for bad boys and Manuel is definitely not a bad boy he's the smartest boy I know, he's shy, sweet, and caring. Actually he's cute just his dress code was not on point, he wore clothing that were nerdy, had round glasses, and had medium length rough curly blond hair.

"Hey Mani, what's up?"

"Nothing how are you feeling? I heard about what happened, how you ended up in the hospital while you and Robin went home after the party."

"Damn so the whole school knows now?" I replied not even a bit surprised Robin does have a big mouth.

"Yeah literally."

"I'm good now thank you, your so caring."

"Of course, you are one of my friends and I'd protect you if I had too."

Protect me? From what? I thought. "Come here and give me a hug you care bear." I said and hugged him. " So are you going to walk me to breakfast and wait for Jen?"

He looked down when he heard me said Jen's name. "Yeah I guess."

Me and Mani sat down and ate breakfast while we waited for Jen. He was catching me up on class work that I have missed but Jen already got all my work for me.

"Hey Lil'?" Mani said looking down at his food.

"Yeah what's up." I replied looking at him.

"Jen will never like me will she?"

"Well she will if she gets to know you but maybe a makeover will help her see that more. You know what I mean?"

"Yeah. I mean why not, I'd like a make over."

"You got my number just text me when your ready. I'll even go to the mall with you, get some new styles."

Looking at me he said,"Alright, but hey I have a cousin that just moved here he won't be here today at school but I'd love for u to meet him. You know maybe take your mind off of someone. "

"Yeah I'd love to meet your cousin but as a friend though okay."

He chuckled and said, "Well he is quite a ladies man."

I giggled just then the bell ranged.

Looking at my phone to call Jen and ask her where the hell is she, I seen a text message from her that wrote: Dont kill me, but I'm going to be late, shit I just woke up so don't wait up on me. xoxo luv you sis.

"Well Jen's coming late as always." I said .

He replied, "Not even a bit shocking."

"Well lets go to Algebra class then." I replied after 5 seconds of silence.

Algebra class was over and Jen still hadn't shown up. I wasn't worried, she does this on a regular basis. Luckily I had the next class with Mani, at least I had someone to walk with.

When Mani and I walked into class I quickly noticed Joshua Hawkins he use to pick on me, even shove me when I couldn't stick up for myself as a 9th grader. When Jen tried to talk to him all he replied back was "shut up bitch" and walked away I had stalked behind him and punched his right in his jaw left and first then right hand he was spitting out blood crying like a little bitch he was. Yeah I got suspended but it was for respect. He looked at me and I threw dagger glares at him then he looked away. I knew how to handle him now and he knew it.

Anatomy class was good it was over before I knew it. Jen texted me she had arrived at school. We only have 1 class together the only time I'll see her again is lunch.
