Chapter 3: A Friend "Date"

After about 30 mins, the doc came out of the room to tell us the news.

"So..Ashley.." the doctor sighs in between.

"I'm very sorry. Ashley's brain is dead. She will be suffering in a coma for maybe about 2 months and will hopefully regain herself back. "

Diana's parents were about to cry and so did I. Diana is still crying on me while I'm still hugging her. Its so sad to see Diana's family like this. I've also known Ashley, since when I was little. She would carry me into her arms and take care of me. Just so you know Diana's family and my family, we get along most of the time. Especially through family trips, camping, travelling from another place and so on. Now, its like we all needed to take a break and fix our problem/issues up. This isn't what I expected it to be.

It was 10:20 at night, while we're still in the hospital. We were all sitting down, near Ashley's room. This has gone worst than I thought. Diana's head was on my shoulder, thinking that she's tired.

"Diana? Do you want to go home?" I nudged.

"Yeah...I had enough for today." Her eyes are swollen and tired as I can see on her face.

"Yeah, you guys can go home. We'll stay here to take care of Ashley. You guys can come whenever you guys are free." Diana's mom said.

"Okay, bye Diana's mom." I stand up, picking up Jimmy from the seat as he is sleeping.

"Bye you two, take care." her mom replied.

Diana and I walked outside of the hospital to my car and drove all the way back to our place. Our eyes were all saggy and tired as we approach inside the house.

"I'm sorry about your sister..Diana.."

"Its okay..let's just not think of it. I don't want to hear about it before we go to bed."

"Yeah..okay."

I was still holding onto Jimmy, going upstairs to my room. I put him down on my bed and changed his clothes right a way when he's still asleep. Then, I went to the bathroom to washed my face and all my necessities. I was really tired, so I hop on to my bed and closed all the lights to sleep through the night.

*alarm ringing at 8:30 am in the morning*

Hearing my alarm felt so irritating when I couldn't be able to find my phone while closing my eyes. I try to opened my eyes, grab my phone, and turn off the alarm. UGH!! Finally! I went back to sleep, telling myself five more minutes. Until I slept a little longer, I checked my phone again it was 8:50?! Oh my gosh!! I'm gonna be late for work. So lazy I got up, getting ready as always to Starbucks.

I came to work and did what I'm suppose to do. My eyes were trying to close itself while I'm trying to stay awake. It was my job taking the people orders for the people who are in line. Until the last person in line, I recognized a voice who told me to stay awake.

"Um..Anna? C'mon stay awake."

I opened my eyes to see it was Ethan.

"Oh, hey Ethan. I'm so sorry."

"Didn't get enough sleep?" he noticed

"Yeah.."

"Um, I was thinking if you want to take a walk at the park with me."

"Yeah sure, my shift is done here by 4. So just call me or text me."

"Oh, okay. I'll see you later then." he said so shyly.
