I sit back down in my seat. Tears well up in my eyes, and I look at Aiden. He's staring at me, wait no he's staring at...I turn around to see my dad. My dad...my dad!
"Daddy!" Aiden runs up and hugs him.
"Hey buddy! Rose come give your old man a hug!"
I don't budge, I can't move. He's the reason mom almost died. My trance breaks and I get up to give him a hug. His embrace is so comforting, who knew I needed an adult so bad? Someone to take care of me. But didn't he leave us?
"Dad were you going to leave us?" I ask him without missing a beat.
"Sweetie, I would never leave you guys." I believe him. He doesn't smell like beer, or pot, or whatever mom always accuses him of drinking or doing. Come to think of it..isn't it always mom who smells weird?
"I still have to go on this work trip, and since I had to come back, i missed the deadline, so daddy is going to have to find a new job."
