I wake up with a smile on my face I get up, and race To my closet What to wear? Who knows? So I just stare.. I got it! I take out my favorite dress. I rewrote my birthday message inside, stuck 20 bucks inside the card, found an envelope, put the card inside the envelope, and fin. It's now 2:37.
Alex: hey u can come over now, sry I didn't reply sooner Me: np, coming over now Me: wait where do u live...? He gives me his address and I go to get my shoes on. I think about putting on my flats, but it's enough that I'm wearing a dress in public. I walk down to Alex' house and then I remember...isn't this Chase's street? "Hey, Rose? Looking good, for once. Why the get up?" What is he a fricking ninja? And why does he have to be so annoying? It's hard to hate a face like that. "I'm going to a party. And I'm late, so bye." I respond, looking him dead in the eye. Which I'm kind of surprised I'm doing because, usually his eyes make me freeze, and also because I'm lying. I'm like 3 hours early. "You sure you're late? Because I thought Alex's party wasn't until 5?" How did he know? "You going over for a little extra 'play time?'" "Oh my god! Just leave me alone! What the hell, Chase? You can't see me at school, but you can't leave me alone when it's just you and me? Just leave me alone!" I push past him, but he grabs me arm. I stop cold. This is so cliché, don't tell me he's about to say something really sweet and then I melt and all that shit. He brings me close puts his lips right next to my ear, I feel them move as he opens his mouth to tell me something. But I don't wait for the words to come out. I yank my hand away and run. Thank god I decided to wear my cons. It's only another minute until I get to Alex's house. Out of breath and shaken, I lean against the wall and take a minute to collect myself. What was Chase going to tell me? Why do I even care? I pull my hair into a high ponytail, it's too hot to leave down. Shit. Chase why would you do this to me? I check my phone, 3:00. I ring the doorbell. Alex opens the door and grins. Okay, I can do this. With Alex, as a true friend, I feel like I could do anything.
