Rafik Hariri decided to build downtown Beirut since it was destroyed after the Lebanese civil war and since it was one of his dreams. He started building Lebanon from scratch so he started doing plenty of deals with the people who owned land in downtown Beirut. Hariri only owned a 5% stake in solidere the company that is now in charge of downtown Beirut. Hariri Has many of other projects however this is one of the most important plans. Hariri built downtown Ina way that the Lebanese people can meet in one place so he Put equal quantities of churches and mosks.
