Prologue: Ellie
I was walking down 56th street after a late night out with the girls when I realised I was being followed.
My first instinct was to panic, but it was my second that I believed would prove useful.
I continued to walk with an even pace as I spoke up to my stalker.
"You can stop following me now, sweetheart. I know you're there," I said boldly, staring straight ahead. Being confident was one of the first steps to survival, as was awareness. If you act unafraid and like you know what you're doing, they'll be running for the hills to find an easier target.
I turned to face my prowler bravely, but was halted in the act when I felt a cool blade at the skin of my neck. I still couldn't see their face, but the smell; a mixture of earth and mint, informed me that they were male.
"You took your time. I've been following you for six months," he murmured in my ear. His voice was deep like silk, and certainly young.
"What the hell . . ." I mumbled under my breath, panic starting to rise like bile in my throat.
"What do you want?" I demanded.
"To kill you," he replied in a whisper, before removing the knife from my neck.
When I turned to face him, he was already gone.
Like dust in the wind.
A/N: Yayyyy, new story! What do you think? I've not posted anything on here for ages and wanted to try something new. There are so many brilliant stories around at the minute like 'Bad Boy Isn't My Type' and 'The Bad Boy, Cupid & Me' that I absolutely adore and I wanted to carry on the much loved trend but do something a little different. I wanted to create the ultimate bad boy, who's actually bad. As in murdering people bad. Scary bad. A bit like Sebastian out of 'Million Dollar Man'. I really love how fast paced and exciting that book is.
Anyway! Let me know what you think! I'll be uploading every Sunday if I can but please bear in mind that I'm currently doing my GCSE's and things can get pretty hectic. :/
Credit for the awesome original cover which is a mulitmedia goes to @HarrietMAWright - my amazing best friend, who was also responsible for editing this thing!
