*Anubis' POV*
She stroked my back lazily and slouched against me, still in the white fennec dress.
"Why? Why does it fit?" She said.
Why? It was tailor-made for her- of course it would fit.
I grunted again. What, she would be so affectionate with a bestial jackal, cuddling him thinking that I sent him to keep her company but refuse to even let me kiss her? She even changed in front of me, not recognising my jackal form and let me see all of her body. Does she really hate me so much?
Despite my anger, I had been immensely aroused to watch her undress. Fortunately my jackal form laid on its belly so it did not show.
"How can it fit? Nekhet is so tall... her dress should be too long for me. But this fits so perfectly. It'd be too short for Nekhet." She mumbled pensively and played with my thick fur.
Nekhet? Isn't that her sister? What the hell does this have to do with her sister?
She sat up abruptly.
"Do you think maybe it was made for me?"
What? I snorted. Of course it was. I had even hunted the fennecs personally and was dead careful not to kill too bloodily.
Nefret sighed and kept quiet for a long time.
"You know something, boy? You're my favourite colour- lapis lazuli." Nefret mused.
Her favourite colour... wasn't white... but my favourite colour blue?
"You're beautiful!" She declared and kissed me on my forehead between the ears.
She kissed me.
Not knowing it was me.
She would kiss a stray jackal, a mongrel, just because he's her favourite colour but refused three times to kiss me?
My jackal form was furious at the thought, it was endowed with a naturally savage heart and was short-fused. But now, even my coldly rational human form was frustrated beyond negotiation.
With a feral sneer, I rolled her over on her back, towering over her. Apart from being savage, my bestial form was... bestial and it sought to sate itself on its bride.
"What's wrong boy?" Nefret held up a hand against the base of my snout, alarmed but not yet frightened.
"Nefret." I said, my voice sounding raw and untrained in my jackal form.
"A-Anubis?"
She recognised my voice.
"You wouldn't kiss me, and you wouldn't even look at me. But you would shower a mongrel with affection?"
Nefret remained quiet at that, presumably with guilt and-
"You don't even want me." She bit back bitterly, matching my jackal's ferocity.
"I don't want you? I challenged law in Godplane to make this deal with your father to make you mine! I, the god who brings fair judgement to passed souls!" I roared.
"It was my sister you wanted!" Nefret shouted back, burning my ears, "It was Nekhet you wanted..."
And with that, Nefret slowly broke into tears.
"...What do you mean?" I carefully questioned. Had Seth poisoned her mind against me?
Under me, Nefret pursed her lips, refusing to say more.
"But I picked you. You are the one I want, not your sister." My jackal whined, aggravated by her crying.
"You asked Yaba for the golden flower."
