I spent the rest of the day in my room. I tried to occupy my mind by drawing, watching TV, and reading, but I couldn't stay focused. My mind kept wandering back to the boy. I didn't even know his name, yet I felt like his face was burnt into my mind forever. Every time I closed my eyes, his tear streaked expression would show up, and I would feel like crying. My parents kept stopping by my room, asking if I needed anything and casting worried glances at each other when I shook my head. I knew they were freaking out, and I felt bad for worrying them, but I needed some time to think things through. I couldn't shake the memory from my head, and my worry for the boy increased every minute. The voices in the back of my head were questioning whether I did the right thing or not.

He was obviously unhappy with this life. Why would you stop his chance of being happy?

Because it's not right! He could try to be happier, if not for himself then for his family! He doesn't know what suicide does to a family. It tears them apart.

I squeezed my eyes shut then rubbed my temples. If my head could just shut off for awhile, I could go back to being fine and my parents would stop questioning if I needed a phycological intervention. I had told them I was fine, and they nodded their heads, but I knew they were going to do something or send someone in. And at around eight at night, they finally did just that.

"Kitty Kat?"

I looked up from my position on my bed to see my little sister Lily poke her head into my room. She was wearing her signature tiara, tutu and cape, and her front teeth had a gap in them, making her cuter than ever.

"They sent the five year old as my intervention?" I asked, propping myself up on my bed and raising an eyebrow at Lily. She gave me a knowing grin on response and jumped onto my bed, crawled next to me and gave me a hug. I turned on the t.v. and hugged her back. We stayed like that for awhile, all snuggled up on my bed, watching a movie while not really watching it. After awhile, I heard a sleepy voice from beside me.

"You're okay, right Kitty Kat?"

I gave a her smile and smoothed down her hair. "Don't worry, Lily Belle. I'll be fine."

"So you saved his life?"

I slapped the cleaning rag onto the table, and started wiping it down. I had to work at my parent's bakery/restaurant all this summer, and today was no exception, even with what had happened yesterday. My parents had awoken to a happy Katrina, and I planned to keep it that way, even though I felt terrible. I looked up at my best friend/cousin Ella, who was staring at me expectantly.

"I guess? I mean it all happened so fast, I didn't really have time to contemplate what was going on," I answered, putting the rag back and heading over to a table.

"Kat, this is huge! Do you know-" she started, but I cut her off.

"Hi! I'm Kat, and I'll be your waitress for today. Can I start you off with drinks?"

After I had taken their order, I walked back to Ella, who was still staring at me with a dumbstruck expression.

"Do you know who he is?" She asked, as I went to the counter to grab some food. "I mean, have you ever seen him before? How do you know he's still oka-"
