LATER THAT NIGHT

THIRD PERSON POV

Mercy walks into her fathers apartment. She proceeds to the kitchen table and sets down some money with a note. She walks out kitchen and towards the apartment door. She touches the door knob and then her hand tingles.

"How have you been? Haven't seen you in awhile." Mercy knew the voice. She was surprised at it as well.

She responds "Oh long time no see , I've been... Well. And you?" Mercy turns around to see her adopted fathers son, Major.

"Actually Very Good, What you doing here?" he says in a concerned fashion.

"I was going ask you the same thing, I owned dad money, now I don't" Mercy looked at him and sensed something. She scanned him. She found nothing out of the ordinary but one thing.

"Oh the money you stole ... And I'm waiting for dad I gotta tell him something" Major said looking at Mercy in the eyes while stepping up closer. Mercy laughed and thought to herself.

"Nah I didn't, why would I need to do that?" Mercy rolled her eyes. She looked at him and put up a fake smile.

"Okay Imma take your word for it. Imma pretend like I didn't see you go into the downtown bank yesterday and then read about how that bank was robbed in the news today okay ?" He knew she did but he wanted to see if she could break. Mercy just stood there. She stepped up to him.

"And out of all of that you continue to think I did it, well too bad I didn't, and if I did what would you? Call the cops?"Mercy looked up at him. With blank expression he stood there.

"Oh no I wouldn't do that, That's none of my business now that you told me you didn't do it. I wouldn't tell because I'm your brother..." Mercy cut him off.

"Your not"

"I'm your family..." Major almost putting his hand on her shoulder but knowing Mercy quickly put it down."And family doesn't do that to each other..."

"And family doesn't assuming the worst out of each other either but here you are" Mercy looked down to the ground.

" You've done it once before..."

" and I said wouldn't do it again." She knew she robbed almost ten places both getting her powers but the family that adopted her didn't know that. She was very careful and had everything planned. Her family never knew about her powers either. Major laughed.Mercy looked straight at his face.

"Okay okay then I believe you" Major took a seat still looking at his adopted sister.
"So when you were you planning on telling me that you were engaged?"Mercy laughed

"Um how did you..."

"Your ring" Mercy said bluntly

"Well I wasn't expecting to see you now but I was going to call and tell that, yes I am getting married" Major waited for her reaction but didn't really get one. Mercy just stood there. She sighed and the walled towards the apartment door.

"Tell your fiance, Marley I said congrats and Xavier that he'll be a great best man. Let's also hope that your dad won't freak out. Text me the details." Mercy opens the apartment door. She proceeds to step out while hearing Major yell.

"Are you gonna be there!?!?" Major questioned. He always knew that Mercy would be there for him but right now he was doubting it. Mercy peaked her head back in the apartment.
