Chapter 2 • Pretty Stranger

I woke up to an aggravating rooster alarm from my phone. I tapped on snooze and got my lazy butt up.

I noticed that Topanga was gone out of my bed. Then I say a aqua sticky note.

Morning Tanya! My mama called at like 3 in the morning telling me to come home. I love you T, and I'll see you at school.

I smiled and put the sticky note on put it on the mirror of my dresser. I hurried to my closet to find something to wear.

I grabbed my blue crop top that covered half of my belly button, blue and green striped leggings, and blue converses. I also found the perfect green cardigan to match my outfit and put it on.

I went in the bathroom and brushed my teeth, sprayed my deodorant on, and put on cat eye eyeliner.

Now's the worst part of my morning.

DOING MY HAIR!

I don't usually have weave in. I like to have my own hair out to see how far my hair goes.

My hair is very long for a black girl. Well was. It stopped at the bottom of those two bones in your back. But now I have it cut in a lil Bob at my shoulders. I got brown highlights a few days before school would start back from break.

I grabbed my phone, charger, and LG Bluetooth headphones. I connected the headset to my phone and went to Spotify and started jamming.

I went downstairs to the kitchen and there was a plate with two waffles and eggs and another note..

Your father and I both had to go to work early so we cooked you breakfast knowing you'd be hungry. Have a good day baby.

I devoured my delicious food and went out the door to my car.

I cranked it up and made my way to school.

I made my way there and parked. I grabbed my bookbag from the passenger seat and wrapped my purse around my shoulder. As I stepped my foot out, I heard a loud yell. It came from the car next to me. There was a girl in there looking down at her stomach.

I rushed outta my car to go see what the deal was.

I opened her car door and she was crying and all she had on was a bra and her legs were wide open. I also saw blood on her hands.

"OMG, what happened!!?" I yelled.

She looked up at me, "My ex came in here, knocked me out cold, and he raped me. SO BAD! I'm in so much pain.." she said

"What's your name baby girl.." I asked calming her down and cleaning her and then helping her get her clothes back on her.

"Oh, um it's Bridgette Norway. You?" She asks.

"Tanya Baker. And not trying to be rude. But, are you pregnant?" I said looking at her belly. We stopped walking to the building and she sighed.

"Yes. With my current boyfriend. He's in Chicago right now with his daddy. And I'm like 16 weeks along." She said

"Can I?" She nodded smiling. I put my right hand on her tight, tight belly and rubbed my hand all around it.

"Can we be friends, like I only have one friend, yea basically one friend." I said. She nodded .

"Sure!" She said hugging me, avoiding not to hit her belly on me.

"I don't have any period. I just moved her about a month ago so."

"So, we can go in now. I want you and my friend, Topanga to meet each other." She nodded in agreement and we walking into the school building.

Turns out her locker is to the right of mines. I never noticed her the whole time she's been at this school.

And she has all of her classes with me except for Science class.

"Hey I gotta go check on something in the bathroom and make my way to the only class we don't have together. I'll meet Topanga probably tomorrow." She stated. I nodded and she walked off. I saw her stop in the corner of my eye and she was walking back to me.

"Um.. I just wanted to say thank you for everything. I REALLY appreciate it, Tanya." She said. That warmed my heart.

"No problem." She gave me another hug and then walked off.

I turned to my locker to check me self in my mini mirror and heard a deep voice..

"Never saw you around here before.." A deep, unfamiliar voice spoke up. I turn around to see a tall white boy. A FINE white boy.

"I never saw you either, pal??" I say confused. "Do I know you?"

"I'm Adrien Brown. Your Tanya Baker. Don't ask how I know, I just know people." He said smirking.

He stopped looking at me and started turning the lock on a locker to the left of mine. Then it just popped open

Oh lord..... that means..

"This is YOUR locker??" I ask. He nodded smiling.

"Yes it is, Locker Neighbor." I laughed. "Nice to meet you, Adrien." I said holding my hand out. He pushed it to the side and hugged me.

"Your cool. Wanna hang out sometime?" He asked pulling out his phone from his pocket.

"Sure. I only have one friend and met another a few minutes ago. " He modded in agreement.

"Give me your phone and I'll get yours so we can exchange numbers." I gave him my iPhone and he gave me his Galaxy s7 edge.

***Ugh!!!! Androids suck!!!! Apple is better***

I typed in, 'Tanya Baker💣😝' for the contact name. And I took a picture of me smiling in his camera .

I gave him his phone back and received mine. I looked at the screen. The contact name was 'Adrien🔥💦👑 (LockerNeighbor😂)' And the picture.... my GAAAUUUWWWWWDD!!!

The picture was of him smirking with his hand tangled in his hair. And JESUS!!! Them eyes got to me... UGH!!

"Well I gotta get to class." I say closing my locker and locking it back. He did the same. I was just staring him in the eyes and we were leaning in, but all of a sudden, I hear running feet coming.

"TANYA!!! I missed your behind!" Topanga snuck up on me and hugged me tightly. She let go and stared at Adrien.

"Um is this the new boyfr-" I cut her off.

"Sooooo!!! Topanga! This is Adrien and were locker neighbors and just met." She held out her hand to shake it and he shook it.

"Oh she gets a hand shake but I get a hug??" I say to Adrien.

"Well, no offense Topanga, but your very pretty.." He says to me looking up and down. I smile looking down at my converses. He holds my chin with his thumb and index finger.

Topanga pouts. Me and Adrien bust out laughing and Topanga is still pouting but smiling at the same time.

"Ok. I'll see you two beauty's tomorrow. Especially you, Tanya.." I looked up at him and with a smile. He winked at me with a smirk then walked off.
