The next morning, Laden came and woke me up. He seemed a little too excited about me moving here. He constantly talked about the things we can do and how fun it will be. It was kind of adorable how he talked about it. We stepped out of Hayley's house; the only light I saw were the streetlights and the lights inside of the houses. Skull Tower was lit up in red; the clock part and the eyes of the skulls all around it. It's pretty hard to adjust to the dark mornings, there was a thick blanket of fog lingering above the ground.

"What all do we have to get from your place?" Laden wondered. He probably doesn't want to make too many trips; I don't blame him.

"Just my clothes, shoes, guitar, music and a couple other things." I responded with a smile. I didn't want to seem too excited, even though I was. This is the start of something new for me.

"Okay, we could probably do that in one trip." He mentioned while we stood at the ladder. He climbed up, and I followed close behind. My mom wouldn't be able to stop me from moving out since I'm eighteen; she was never around that much to begin with. Laden and I made it back to the subway tunnel but since it was morning, the subways were busy. Laden had this crazed look in his eyes, and I don't like it. At all.

"We're going to have to wait until the subway stops. We'll go through the back and make our way out." Laden plotted. I was debating if his plan was either brilliant or insane. From the looks of it, Laden clearly did this before.

"Seriously? There's nothing else we can do?" I asked terrified. He rolled his eyes and quickly grabbed my hand when we heard a subway coming. When the breaks screeched, Laden gripped my hand tightly, and raced the both of us to back of the subway. It happened so fast that it felt like just a couple of seconds. We broke throught different crowds of people with different faces; and sadly, different smells. We made it out just before the subway continued on.

"That was close." Laden said looking at me while I was panting. He smiled a little and wrapped his arm behind my back.

"What a great way to start off the morning." I said laughing and catching my breath at the same time. He laughed with me while we walked up the stairs.

We walked a couple of bloscks until we finally reached my apartment building. Laden and I made it to the steps and I froze at the door.

"Want me to wait here?" He asked looking over at me. I breathed in deeply and let out a smile.

"Yeah, I won't be long." I mentioned opening the door. I walked up the stairs and entered the apartment. My mom was sitting on the couch watching her favorite crime scene show.

"Where the hell have you been?" She hollered turning off her show with the remote with an angered look on her face. Even though she was fairly young, the cigarettes and alcohol hasn't done her much good.

"I spent the night with Bailey." I lied. She doesn't know any of my friends; she doesn't care to."I'm moving out just so you know." I said motioning towards my room. I slammed the door.

"Go on and leave then. Just like your father did. I don't give a damn." She yelled turning her show back on. I heard her light up another cigarette and I rolled my eyes. She'll forget I even exist by tomorrow, it worked after my father left. Now I see why.

I packed my suitcase with clothes, shoes, hygenic things and whatever else I felt that I needed. I looked over at my guitar and let the memories of my father sink in. Before he left that night, he came into my room and hid his guitar in my closet. I saved it before my mom tried tossing it out. I walked over and put it in its case.

I grabbed my things and stepped back to look at my room. It was twice as empty that in used to be. I opened my bedroom door and started walking towards the living room. Laden was standing at the door; my mother was as shocked as I was. She turned to me with her eyebrows raised high.
