Letting Go

I woke up in the morning with a surprise note on my nightstand. The envelope was black with silver ink. It was from Skull Tower which was odd to me since it was just a building; it read:

Dear Morgan,

I'm pleased to hear about your arrival in World of Misfits. My name is Mr. Silver, I'm the founder. I've set up a meeting for 3:30PM, I expect to see you there. Every Misfit has had this meeting so please don't feel uncomfortable. I look forward to introducing myself to you in person.

Sincerely,

Mr. Silver

I put the letter back in the envelope and made my way over to Hayley's to show her the note.

"Yeah, I got this too. Don't worry about it, he just asks you a few questions. Mr. Silver is a really awesome guy; that meeting is mandatory though so you might not want to be late." Hayley mentioned, inviting me inside. We sat on the couch together and talked about Mr. Silver a little more until I noticed that Hayley looked a little uneasy about it, as if it was wrong to talk about him. I changed the subject to last night at R&R. We both laughed when I mentioned the random mohawk guy giving me a hug. Hayley said his name was Evan; but that all changed when Hayley started questioning me about after the Scream Off.

"So what did you and Laden do afterwards?" She asked, cheerfully looking at me. I hated hearing that question; I really didn't want to respond.

"We talked for a little bit and then went home. Nothing special." I said with a smirk. I started thinking about Laden and when he kissed me in the subway, until Hayley caught my glimpse.

"You're not telling me something. Did you guys kiss?" She asked practically speaking for me. I looked at her blankly, trying so hard not to blush.

"Only once,it was in the subway. He was trying to make me feel better." I confessed truthfully, even though it felt so much more than "just a kiss."

"Oh my gosh! Are you two dating? That would be so cute!" Hayley asked excited. That was the second question I didn't want to hear. It hurts a little actually.

"No. I don't know." I said pressing one of her pillows against my face. "He said he'll think about it which only made things more awkward between us." I said sinking into her couch. Her face was in shock which kind of looked funny to me.

"Well he better hurry up! You guys look adorable together." Hayley said marching over to her window to check the time. I saw Skull Tower from where I was sitting but I was too far to make out the time.

"So what do you remember about the meeting with Mr. Silver?" I asked curiously. She came and sat back down on the couch.

"The tattoo. He said it was to symbolize a Misfit." She turned around, lifting up her hair. Directly on her neck was the tattoo which looked familliar to me for some reason. I pulled the envelope back out and quickly found it. It was stamped at the bottom of the paper. It had one oval shaped eye on the left, the right eye was a crossed out eye and it had a stitched up smile. It reminded me of theose Wal-Mart stickers you get when you first walk in. I probably wouldn't be in a lot of pain judging by the amount of times I cut myself. I don't really look forward to the meeting.

I left Hayley's house and got dressed in my favorite outfit. Laden still hasn't shown himself yet, how long will it take for him to think about us? There really wasn't anything to do in my spare time, so I just decided to sleep on my couch for a little bit. I woke up at exactly three o' clock, I rushed out the door and began my walk to Skull Tower. People gave me casual looks which made me feel a little more comfortable.
