I woke up to knocking on my front door. Just as I went to twist the knob, Laden opened the door and welcomed himself inside. I was happy to see him, but why was he here so early?
"Well goodmorning to you too." I said closing the door. He sat on the couch and laughed.
"Sorry about that, did you have the meeting with Mr. Silver yet?" Laden asked while I sat next to him. Laden was acting so strange, he seemed a lot more comfortable around me.
"Yeah I had it yesterday," I mentioned crossing my legs on the couch. "So what are you doing here so early?" I asked, trying my best not to sound rude.
"Evan and I were wondering if you wanted to hang with us at R&R today." Laden said smiling randomly.
"Okay. Sounds fun." I said drawing my attention to his pierced lips for some reason.
"Okay, cool. I'll wait here while you get ready I guess." Laden giggled. His laugh along with everything else about him is so attractive. At least he's attempting to spend time with me.
I got up and made my way to my room. I couldn't decide on an outfit. I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to impress him; but I want him to notice me. I decided on black jeans, red converse, a light blue tank top to match his eyes, a red jacket and a couple of necklaces. I walked back into the living room only to see Laden in the mirror with his shirt off.
"Oh my God!" I said covering my eyes and turning around. His back was pale and muscular, but he had a few long scars across it. They looked like whip lashes.
"What?" Laden turned around laughing. I faced him with my hands covering my mouth. I didn't even want to bother asking him about the scars. I covered up my question with something else.
"Why is your shirt off? I questioned looking up at him. He smiled down at me, flashing his smile. He wasn't muscularly built, but he still had abs.
"I wanted to show you my new tattoo." He said uncovering a bandage off of his left peck. It took my breath away, he knows how meaningful it is to me. It was my dad's guitar with two roses on either side of it. Is that why he wasn't talking to me? Was he waiting for the right moment? I hugged him tightly with his chest pressing against the side of my face. I smiled the whole time and he probably did too.
Laden let me go and put his shirt back on. I'm still shocked that he did that for me.
We made it outside and began our walk to R&R. Laden walked closer to me than usual; I'm not even going to complain.
"So, what are we gonna do there?" I asked looking over at him. He moved the bangs out of his eyes and looked back at me.
"Nothing special. We're just going to clean up a little bit and then chill out." He said kicking some pebbles around with his boot.
"Sounds fun." I laughed. Laden smirked and quickly swung me around with his arms until I ended up on his back, my arms crossing his chest as he held them. I'm glad he's more open around me. I rested my head on the top of his head and smiled uncontrollably. He carried me all the way there.
We finally arrive and I was shocked to see who was with Evan.
"Morgan!" Hayley shouted, running towards Laden and i. I hopped off of his back and she practically tackled me with her hug.
"Hey Hayley." I said lookind past her at Evan. What are the odds of that? Laden went over and greeted him while Hayley and I were already half way inside.
"So you and Evan, huh?" I asked jokingly. Hayley blushed and held back her laugh.
"Well hold up now. What about you and mister Laden over there? You guys look closer than before. Hayley said nudging my arm. I laughed while listening to Laden's voice behind us.
"I just wish he would tell me how he feels. I wish I could tell him." Hayley gave me this look as if she knows something that I don't.
"Just hang around him more, let him get used to you."
We entered inside and jumped right to cleaning. Laden turned on some music which made it a lot better. Laden and I started cleaning the stage while Evan and Hayley mopped and polished the floors. R&R seems so much bigger when it's empty. When we got done cleaning, we chilled out on the stage and talked. It was awesome until Evan dropped Laden the question.
"So. are you and Morgan dating yet dude?" Ladens face turned so red. Evan was just picking, but I know that Laden wasn't amused. At that moment, it got so awkward. Someone talked here and there except for Laden. Eventually, Hayley and Evan left but Laden and I stayed behind for a few minutes.
"I hate it when he points me out like that." Laden said angerly.
"He was just joking." I responded, loosening the grip of his hands and sliding my fingers in between his.
"I know. But, he knows that I like you and he thinks it's stupid that we aren't together yet. I just don't think I'm ready." Why aren't you ready? What's holding you back? There's so many questions I want to aske him; but I don't want to put pressure on him or look desperate. But, I am. I'm so addicted to him.
"I understand," I said resting my head on his shoulder. "I don't mind waiting, I'm not going anywhere." I smiled up at him and he was doing the same back at me. It feels good to know that someone out there likes you just the way you are. I'm pretty sure I'm sitting right next to that someone.
He walked me home and we talked for a few minutes before he left. I know I said I'll wait for him; but I hope it won't be too long.
