An unusual breeze swept softly across my cheeks as I gripped tightly onto my suitcase. Mark was still inside fumbling around for those last minute must-haves that could possibly make us late for our flight. I quickly glanced down at my watch only to find that it was 3:40 am, our plane left at 5:30.

"Babe I am so tired. The second I hit those airplane seats I'll be out like a light." Mark said, finally escaping the warm and familiar hold of our house.

His hands fumbled mindlessly with the keys to the home, twisting and turning them until the deadbolt locked in place.

"I'll be right there with you."

After a full hour of airport security and sleepy bumbling, we made it to our seats on the airplane. Mark stood to my right, securing the overhead compartment before he found his spot next to me. With a comforting smile, I lifted the arm rest that separated us and took his warm hand in mine.

"From here on out, things are going to get better."

The silky smooth sound of his voice made me believe every single word. I smiled coyly and peered out the little airplane window. The sky was streaked with bright reds and oranges that reminded me of fire. It was a soothing fire, a fire full of kept promises and fulfilled dreams.

With a hearty giggle and a quick kiss to the back of my head, Mark roughly tugged me closer to his chest. I fell backwards into his embrace and laughed lightly up at him.

"I don't think I could love someone's smile as much as I love yours, it's been too long babygirl, I miss it."

Sure enough, an apparent smile tugged at my lips as I turned in my chair to face him. In the confined space my legs straddled his lap, and I felt myself leaning forward. Within a matter of seconds, my fingers were gently pressed to his jawline and my eyes focused on his.

"I love you." I whispered, resting my forehead against his only for a split second before dipping forward into a deep kiss.

Mark reciprocated, no matter how tired he actually was. His fingers absentmindedly traced lazy circles through my hair and around my neck. My head was spinning at the love seeping from his lips and onto mine. The sensation was a little bit rough due to his slightly chapped lips, but I definitely enjoyed it anyway.

I was the first to pull away, my hands holding Mark's head close to mine. Mark teasingly placed a few small kisses over the corners of my mouth and on the underside of my jaw. My bottom lip threaded through my teeth as Mark continued his mind-numbing butterfly touches. His hand traveled up to my hip, giving it a firm squeeze before sliding up the front of my shirt.

The action caused me to gasp quietly, my eyes fluttering closed so that my eyelashes brushed against the tops of my cheeks.

"Shh." He chuckled, placing the pad of his thumb on the plump part of my bottom lip.

His eyes watched in a satisfied manner as I let out a shaky breath and placed my hand on his chest.

"We're in an airplane, Mark." I pointed out, leaning forward so that my chest was resting on his.

His lips brushed past my ear, sending a domino effect of goosebumps to raise on my skin. "Maybe I want to join the mile high club."

My cheeks burnt bright red at his suggestion. He noticed and with a gentle chuckle he pressed a chaste kiss to my rosy cheek. A powerful surge of exhaustion surged through my veins and I was instantaneously overcome with a body-shaking yawn. A monotone voice sputtered overhead, but Mark didn't have a problem speaking over it.
