your mom died when you were in middle school so it was only just you and your dad. you and your dad were as close as you guys ever could be. with him being in the military, every chance you guys got at spending time together, you took it.

you and Calum have been best friends since middle school. he has always been there for you even when you didn't think you needed him. you guys were so close that you thought it was a good idea to date early high school. trust me it wasn't a good idea to date your best friend, but you guys were the lucky ones. most of the time when best friends date they don't go back to being best friends, they don't even end up being friends. but he knows you better than you know yourself. he can tell whenever you're not feeling yourself... and when you didn't show up for your first period he definitely knew something was wrong.

who knew the last moment you had with your dad was a fight you guys had. you argued with your dad for hours about leaving again. you thought that he had been done going and leaving. your guys argument was so bad that your dad ended it by picking up his bag and leaving. no goodbye. no I love you. nothing.

today didn't start out like it was supposed to. me and y/n always got coffee at the school coffee shop to at least gain some energy from the lack of sleep. we have all of our AP classes together so we basically signed up to give away precious hours of sleep. gotta gain some energy some how, but she wasn't there. maybe she was just running late.

i walk to AP calculus with luke. well technically, his class is on the way. i was hoping that y/n would have beat me there but there was no one else at our usual spot. where the hell could she be?

...

y/n wasn't in AP biology or AP language arts. did she just skip the whole day? of course being the good friend that i am I took notes for her in calculus and biology, but there was a state test in language arts so i begged our teacher to allow her to take it after school or something. y/n wouldn't skip school without at least telling me. so during lunch i called her, but it went straight to voicemail.

"she didn't answer?" michael asked. we all sat together during lunch. none of us actually eat though, the school lunch isn't exactly school lunch.

"nope i'm starting to get worried."

"don't worry so much man, she's probably sick and has been sleeping all day." michael said.

"i hope so." i sighed

...

throughout the day i kept calling her between periods and i would periodically text her during class. every call would go straight to voicemail and every text message would go unseen.

after school i went to her house to see if she was there. her dad hasn't been home in a few weeks so it has just been her home. her and her dad even trust me enough to give me my own key to their house if i needed anything, or if y/n needed anything.

i show up to her house and all of her lights are turned off. i walk up to the door, unlock it, and walk in. everything looks untouched. her school stuff were still left in spot from the last time i came over, which was yesterday. i walked around a little to at least try to find some sort of sign that she was here.

now I'm worried. she hasn't answered her phone. everything looks exactly how we left it yesterday, besides her room. her bed wasn't made, like she just got out of it. her closet was open, so she at least got up and got dressed. i went into her kitchen and found that her fridge and pantry was empty. she would always order takeout or something and eat the leftovers for breakfast. but last night we had Chinese and the leftovers were still on the counter. so she hasn't eaten?
