How did he do that?" Alice asked looking at Max and Raven.

"I'm not sure. But I am about one thing, he is no longer allowed with our coven." Raven said.

Edward half carried me back to where they were all gathered near the house.

"We don't attack people who have welcomed us and become our friends, we hope you'll except our deepest apologies for his behavior. If we'd have know he was going to do this we would have left." Max said.

"It's really alright. You had no control over what happened." Edward said.

"We don't fault you." I agreed.

"We need to discuss what just occurred though." Jasper said. "He just controlled Edward's mind. Who's to say he won't do it again? Who's to say he won't do it to one of us?"

"If I put my shield up, I can stop his ability." I said.

"But you can't shield us forever, Bella." Edward said rubbing his hand up and down my arm.

"But I can shield the house until we come up with a better plan." I said.

With that I very easily, now after years of practice, pushed my shield out of my mind and shaped it around us. And for Edward's benefit, I forced my own shield out with it.

Edward grinned at me. "I love it when you let me in." He said.

"I'm taking pity on you. I haven't let you hear my thoughts in a while.

"When anyone needs to hunt I'll have to go to." I said.

Everyone nodded.

Carlisle spoke up.

"It will do for the time being. We need to strategize. Jasper? Max? Raven? Could you accompany me to my study?"

They nodded and followed. Esme, Alice, Rosalie and Emmett followed.

Edward and I stayed with Jacob and Renesmee.

"So Jake and I will be staying here?" Nessie asked.

"I'm sorry, baby but I think so. At least until we get Cam taken care of." I told her.

"We can't have you unprotected while he's on the loose." Edward Agreed. "You two can have my old room."

They both nodded.

"Because you most of your things are at La Push you'll have to run to the cottage and get some clothes, Ness. If I could I would accompany you to La Push but I can't range from there to here. I'm sorry." I said.

"Don't be sorry, Mom. This is not your fault." She insisted.

I didn't respond I knew if I told her it was everyone would just deny it.

"We'll find you some clothes to Jacob. There has to be something in this house you can wear." Edward said.

Jacob nodded. "Thanks." He said. Then he lead Renesmee into the house.

Edward wrapped his arms around me the second we were alone.

"Are you sure you're alright? I didn't hurt you? I could never live with myself if I hurt you." He worried.

I laid my head calmly on his chest. "I'm fine." I said quietly.

Edward looked at me doubtfully as he heard my standard answer to my well being.

"No, really, I am. I was just shocked more than anything," I said resting my head against him.

He ran his fingers through my hair. I loved it when he did that.

"I knew you did." He said grinning at me.

"For a moment I almost forgot you could hear me." I laughed.

"You have a beautiful mind. So caring and innocent. You never have a thought that I don't want to hear." He said.

"You exaggerate. I'm sure I get boring. I don't have very interesting thoughts going on all the time. I'm always running over the same thing in my mind over and over..."

"Trust me, your mind is anything but boring or uninteresting. I waited almost 3 years for just one thought." He held me tighter.

We stood still for a moment. Just relaxing, or at least attempting to.

"Bella!" Alice shouted from the house before rushing right back out the door she just went in and grabbing my hand to start dragging me into the house.

"What, what, WHAT! Alice," I whined. "Can't you see I'm busy."

"Well your not anymore. We're going to go do some stupid human thing to get our minds off of the whole situation." She said continuing to drag me to the back door.

" 'Stupid human'?" I asked a little miffed because when you thought about it, it really hasn't been that long since I was a human. Just a few years.

"Your not nor have you ever been stupid, Isabella. Were just going to play human for a while to get away from the stress of everything we just witnessed." She said happily.

I thought about it for a moment.

What harm could calming down really do in the long run? None.

Sigh.

"Fine, Alice. You get your way. What are we doing?" I gave in.

"Yes!" She squealed in delight.

"Come on, Edward." Alice said finally acknowledging his existence behind us. "Your coming too."

"Alice! What are we doing?" I said.

"You'll see..." She grinned.
