"Kandi, welcome back." Lilly sipped her tea whilst greeting me.
"Hello Lilly. Umm, you wouldn't happen to know he Ro'meave's address?" I asked her. I have battle practice there with Brianna.
"Sure I do, 236 Magics Way. Please get some tea on your way, Kandi." Lilly was insistant on always having tea.
"Okay, rosewood, lemongrass, and chestnut?" I knew her favorites, but wasn't sure.
"Of course. Be polite Kandi. Both you and Brianna are in lone to join Demonwings. You must keep your efforts concentrated and neat. That's all, have a fine practice." She set her cup down and walked over to a pile of letters, beginning to sort them.
"Yes Lilly, thanks!"
I walked down town silently, the flowers were beginning to grows brown, and the grass was muddy. But the path was well kept, demonstrating how years of wear were no match for it. I stepped off the path into the Beverages Shop.
"Why hello! My name is Astrid, welcome! We're having a sale on exotic drinks for the summer!" Astrid, the lady who worked there, enthusiastically greeted me. I walked over towards the teas. I bought six packs of each of the teas Lilly wanted. I also bought a some honey soda for the Ro'meaves.
"This is all I want." I placed the drinks on the counter and browsed through their other items.
"You're Kandi, right? I've heard about you. Welcome to town! The teas are exotic, so there all half off!" She rung me up quickly, all why talk in a cheery manner.
"Thank you." I took the drinks and left.
Once I was to the house I stopped. I rang the doorbell. Brynn came to greet me.
"Kandi! Welcome! Good to see a family friend. Some of the other guild leaders are requesting we take a lower scale of occupancy. You see, we're taking care of most of the problems in a wide radiace. As result, we're growing in strength, and gaining all the benefits of a successful guild, while they aren't. Benjamin from Shine Scales is in the living room.
You and Brianna can talk for a few minutes. You can have battle after, demonstrate the Demonwing ways for old Ben. Here take one for you, and one for Bri." Brynn informed me of their guest. I paid him no mind as I walked upstairs.
Bri was doing flips in her room. The door was open, so I walked in and sat on the bed.
After finishing a cartwheel Bri came to sit next to me.
"Your moves are amazing!" I tell her. She has always fantasized about performing graceful flips while knocking out thugs.
"Thanks! You see, the entire battle is whatever you make it to be. I think of it as a performance, with my pole as a prop. Thanks for the soda, this is my favorite type." Bri loved to perform for others, and her siblings loved that she was putting all this effort into her hobbies, and the guild.
"No problem. Why don't we get you warmed up. I'll start." I jumped in the air before flipping my legs over my head. The handstand, was the only gymnastics move I could pull off. Using my strength, and kept myself from falling over by pushing against the ground. I used my balance to stay in that position. Eventually, I let my legs return to ground.
"My turn!" Bri took out her pole and laid it against the wall. She started with two one handed cartwheels, then started tumbling out of no where. After her flips were done, she took her pole and began dancing around it. Her parents had purposely made the ceiling high for this. She gripped the top, jumping without letting her feet leave the ground. Then, she kicked her feet off the ground and proceeded to handstand on one hand. She then flipped, keeping her hand on the pole, landing in a kneeling position. Now she did three rapid flips, before landing back in her handstand. She lowered herself down, letting pole go back to its resting spot. She took a seat next to me and took a drink.
"Bri, Di! Its time for your battle." For some reason, Byakuya loved to make our nicknames rhyme.
"'Kay!" We both grabbed out weapons and ran to the battle field.
Benjamin Walker was waiting there, along with all the other Demonwing membors. We both proceeded to a side of the bate field.
"The battle begins in 3, 2, 1!" The ref, Trixie, called out the words that allowed us to being.
Not wasting anytime, I dashed towards her, intending to knock over her metal pole.
"Too late!" Bri used her pole to boost herself in the air, landing across the field.
"Swords of Swiftness! I call on you!" The new swords were light blue, and much lighter. I ran straight back to her, running past her pole and taking a U turn. She saw what I was doing and lifted the pole. She jumped back and began gripping the middle of it. She pointed it at me and smirked.
"Even with those swords I'm still too fast for you." She ran towards me and swung the pole. I blocked it and swung my sword to her side. Fortunately, it threw her off balance.
"Its a well known fact that you're faster then me, luckily for me, I'm stronger!" I lunged at her and knocked her down.
"I'm still fast!" She jumps up and flips over me, preparing to bounce on me from behind. I turn around and block it. She begins to twirl it around as a shield.
"Smart move. But I know it weakness." I smirk running towards her, focusing timing.
Now! I lunge the sword towards the shield. I managed to get it past it shield making it useless. I twist the sword, hoping to knock it out of her hands. She trys the same with her pole.
We both succeed. Both of our weapons are knocked from our hands.
"Its a tie!" Trixie yells from the sideline.
"Most impressive!" Benjamin chuckles. "I'll see you when you join the guild, yes?"
