Distant Friendship
Sunshine
She is sunshine,
Her rays radiating the halls,
Every step, every smile,
Was pure optimism and confidence
As high school days pass by,
Her smiles become rare,
She is lonely,
Missing her friend Darkness.
She glances at the other students,
Who are happy with their lives,
As she aches for Darkness
She walks slowly,
Longing for Darkness,
To come here,
To make her happy again.
As she comes home,
She smiles and laughs,
Darkness made her laugh,
With a simple text.
Without Darkness,
She isn't sunshine,
She isn't happy,
She isn't herself.
She hopes,
That Darkness never forgets her,
That he remembers that she needs him,
To keep her sane.
Darkness and Sunshine,
Were always together,
Were always happy,
Until high school parted them.
She smiles at the memories,
Of him and her,
She wishes him the best,
And hopes one day,
She will see him again.
Darkness
He wants Sunshine,
To transfer over to his school,
For he is not the same,
Without her.
She listened,
When no one was there.
She gave light,
When everyone was dark.
She was his first true friend,
And now she is his number one,
He wants her with him,
To make him feel happy.
Sunshine changed Darkness,
Made him more sweeter,
Made him friendlier,
How Darkness wants her to make him feel less alone.
Darkness quietly sits,
In a table by himself,
And works on his homework,
As others chat and socialize.
He comes home and smiles,
As his phone chimes,
With a text from none other than,
Sunshine.
He has a busy life,
So he can't reply back,
But he is reassured,
That Sunshine is here to stay.
During the weekend,
Sunshine texts him,
Constantly about her clumsiness,
And Darkness laughs feeling happy.
No one can explain,
How Sunshine became Darkness's number one,
Their friendship is solid as earth,
Should it fall apart, everything will as well.
Together, they become one.
Sunshine helped Darkness become social,
Darkness taught Sunshine how to worry less.
Both need each other, but both are apart.
